Hi, I was lucky enough to get NHS funding for IVF. Had one FET so far and it failed to implant. If I wanted to get tests in private to investigate implantation failure, which ones should I get, and are NHS consultants likely to take them into consideration or am I wasting money?I have a positive test for ANA done abroad which they have so far ignored despite me bringing it up repeatedly. However they took into consideration my thrombofilia gene panel also done abroad and as a result I was on Clexane and aspirin for the first transfer (also on Progesterone and estrogen patches).

Have you discussed your concerns with your clinic /Dr re further testing ? They may suggest a few changes to your protocol as 1st cycles are a bit like a learning curve Now they know how your body responses and may be able to tweak your protocol For info about test take aa look at hfea.gov.uk Test addons
Take care

Thank you JA-fnuk .I have 3 frozen embrios left. They are untested and I can't get them tested, so trying to eliminate or cover for other causes of implantation failure. Will have the post-failure convo with the consultant next week, I hope. But I want to do my homework about what to talk to them first. Before the transfer they told me they don't look into other causes until after 3 failed transfers, which seems to me like a waste of embryos if there is anything that can be uncovered sooner. My problem is that I am on NHS funding at the moment, any investigation I do will have to come out of my pocket(and they ain't cheap) so I am trying to understand which investigations are worth it and which ones less so.
I’m right with you on this , it’s a minefield trying to work out the tests to have without wasting money and time. My clinic have even said to me I have to go through 4 failed transfers as I am 37 . I have already had two and gearing up for third transfer . I have pushed my clinic to do an Emma / Alice biopsy while I have my scratch . X
just know you aren’t alone ❤️ the era is rated red by the hfea as it can sometimes be unreliable apparently as cycles can change from month to month according to my consultant. I’m having a scratch done and my clinic said they can do the Emma / Alice test at the same time . My clinic also don’t do the era test so I couldn’t have it even if I wanted to . I have had to push my clinic to to anything , I couldn’t physically do another transfer before doing something different. It’s too heartbreaking x
