She then had a Colonoscopy at another hospital which showed
Colitis
(by this time the infection had gone) She was given granules and steroids which cleared the whole thing up.

Azathioprine question
I have been taking Azathioprine for ulcerative
colitis
for 30+ years but recently my consultant has told me to come off it as at my age the risks outweigh the benefits.

Stiff and clicking joints, negative for RA
I also suffer from restless keg syndrome and also have left- sided
colitis
so I have an auto-immune disease history. Took the blood test for RA and it came back negative. Advice welcome on what may be wrong with me!!

I'm Having a Meltdown...
Have ulcerative
colitis
that is severe since 15. Have thought about suicide almost daily since then. I figure the only thing that keeps me from doing it is fear which is pretty much what has kept me from doing anything in my life.

Meds or not meds.
My problem is that I have had stomach cancer and have Ulcerative
Colitis
. This means no aspirin and all the medication I have seen has gastric/digestion side effects. The clinic is being understanding and have decided on a watch and wait. My last platelets were 536. Other bloods normal.

Dry skin on blood thinners
I am 70 years of age so skin thinning at this time in my life is natural and I have been on
colitis
meds for 8 years which have not helped. Thank you for reading this post and any advice you can give will be gratefully received as I am still getting my head around the whole heart attack thing.

Methoraxate alternative?
I know any drug can have side effects but I already have Ulcerative
Colitis
and I believe it is not recommended so if I am offered I will refuse. Are there any other alternatives in the UK and if so can they be taken by injection to save the gut?

I HAVE FACE BOOK FRIENDS BUT NOT ONE PERSON TO TALK TO ONE ON ONE
I'm 68 years old now but can't get off the farm because I have
colitis
condition which can be controlled and I have problem falling down. I have had too many of my soul-mates die in the last ten years. I miss them.

Quinidine Sulphate
About 11 years ago I was diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome and had a de-fib fitted as well as prescibed Quinidine and Bisoloprol which I have taken ever since. 4 years ago my de-fib activated so my Consultant increased the levles of Quinidine. However I am told by my Consultant & Pharmacy that they cannot

Gastroparesis - say what?
So while I do not have Chron's, I think we can say I am on the
colitis
side. Also, do others take PPIs for GERD? I'm curious as to the amount. I am on 80 mgs of Omeprazole (40mg AM and PM). I just had a nasal scope and my upper airway is still inflamed from acid. Crazy! So hi to everyone!

No more plaquinel
Hi everyone, Last year I developed late-onset ulcerative
colitis
and my colon ruptured and was removed, then I got sepsis which went into my eyes and has been caused macular problems, so I had to go off plaquinel.

AF being driven by prednisone for ulcerative colitis
I was perking alone fine on daily metoprolol 25 mg, when I had an ER visit5 days ago for a big flare of ulcerative
colitis
(after 22 yrs of being in remission). After 2 days of 40 mg prednisone and 3 days of 30 mg pred, I went into afib yesterday.

Thyroid medication and side effects 😢
Ive always had stomach and bowle issues on all the thyroid medication I've been on, from tablets to capsules to liquid, i fear it irritates my
colitis
and I'm lactose intolorent to boot.

Worried I have ulcerative colitis or something else.
I was wondering if anybody could tell me what symptoms they have been experiencing with ulcerative
colitis
if they wouldn't mind?
