New to OP, Hormone for building bones
I have taken the recommended supplements, 1200 mg
calcium
and D3 along with the recommended diet for 20 years. It appears to be a fail. I have a family history of osteoporosis so have been very proactive to prevent it.

Bone problems?
Had radiotherapy 16 years ago for anal cancer, am taking
calcium
and vitamin D as concerned about future hip arthritis, bone breakages. Am 66. Anyone else had experience of thinning bone density? Would like to prevent this. Many thanks.

repeat fractures
I had blood work done and my
calcium
level is normal but my vitamin D is very low which means I have malabsorption. Does anyone else have malabsorption and fractures? I’m just trying to figure out where to go from here. I need to exercise but I’m afraid to because of my fractures.

I am taking
calcium
and d3 to limit bone loss.. I am controlling my IPF with a experimental drug called OFEV. I have been an experiment with medical pulmonary research which I am responding to well.. But losing muscle mass will weaken my ability to cough up flem.. Tough spot here..

Shellfish Allergies and Plant Based Calcium
Has anyone with seafood/shellfish allergies successfully found a plant-based
calcium
supplement made from algae that you can safely take? And, if so, could you please share the supplement brand. I'm in the US. Thank you.

Calcium needed or not…?
If do strenuous dead weight lifting the adde stress to the bones results in increased
calcium
being deposited, less exercise, the reverse. The amount of
calcium
that’s in the blood is an indicator.

MRI-guided transperineal biopsy hurt so much
I'm curious if folks have recommendations about how to reduce what was an unbearable pain from the biopsy. I almost passed out and the thought of my next biopsy gives me cold sweats. What hurt was the process of the anesthetic injections. Each one at a deeper layer. It's clear that the anesthetic did

Others don’t understand
I know we’re all usually talking about our meds, but I’m wondering how everybody is faring when trying to explain to others what we go through. I’ve had my adult children question why I take oxycodone. Some seem to understand, some are very judgmental. RLS can start at 10:30 am, and is why I’m spreading

What’s the correct way to take and should you take
calcium
with it. I’m thinking of trying it again but am worried. I’ve read it’s good for anxiety and tachycardia.

Do I have any options other than getting out there with a broom and some
calcium
pellets umpteen times a day? Does anyone sell a magic wand that would work from inside the house?

Painful Fingers
My thumbs especially are huge with the build up of
calcium
. Just want something to help dissolve this
calcium
and give me pain-free fingers.

Endo asking for calcium and magnesium blood tests
I think I read that a good reason to take magnesium is that it keeps
calcium
in the bones instead of in the blood. So should I be more regular with my magnesium intake for example.

Just diagnosed with Osteoporosis, rock and a hard place...
I have stage 3b chronic kidney disease, which means I have to limit my
calcium
and my protein. I also have chronic deep vein thrombosis for which I am on lifetime blood thinners. That means no food high in vitamin K.

A diagnosis! Yipee! Kawasaki Disease, look for calcified aneurysms! (also a question about warfarin)
If there are any young hearties on here with aquired heart disease ask them to do a
calcium
score and look for calcified aneurysms.

Thoughts on this please?
Interesting, not much feed back on the
calcium
aspect... I'm off to find a rabbit hole 😉

Curcumin Update 2023/03/06
• Curcumin Improves Mitochondrial Dysfunction and
Calcium
Overload (9).
Notes:
• Disease duration seems important for the curcumin supplementation, as PD patients with shorter disease duration presented a better clinical outcome (1).

Transdermal Calcium? Pro's & Con's?
I've just used the
calcium
calculator and I probably get around 200mg a week! 🙄 Can't really see a good way to raise my dietary intake... so many restrictions no dairy, nightshades, legumes, eggs, restricted meat, gluten and certain fruit and veg, histamine intolerance.... you know the story!

Blood work your doctor should order before prescribing medications for OP
It had a test listed for bone markers and if your
calcium
was being absorbed in your bones among many other blood work test. Can someone please repost that long list of test? I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
