We are cured, again (again)

Spot on penis glans
This spot appeared one the glans of my penis a few months ago. It was way worse before and it has gradually cleared up. I have spent hundreds of dollars at dermatologists. First appointment, the dermatologist told me it was a fungal infection. I was prescribed Nystatin cream and it didn’t really help

Cholesterol and thyroid blood test results
So today i had a telephone consultation with my GP, regarding my thyroid function and cholesterol blood test results. I had already been told to reduce my thyroxine from 125 to 100mg. GP seemed more concerned about my cholesterol 6.6. I was aked why my cholesterol may have gone up . Granted over many

Diffuse coronary artery disease
Angiogram recently resulted in a diagnosis of diffuse coronary artery disease not amenable to stenting with recommended treatment beta-blockers, aspirin and statins. Does anyone have further information about this condition ? Thanks.

Timing of various medications? What do most of you do?
I've just read a 2013 article in AARP's "The Daily" regarding when to take various medications (https://www.aarp.org/health/drugs-supplements/info-12-2013/timing-of-daily-medications). Cancer drugs are not mentioned except to suggest that certain cancer cells may be more vulnerable when other cells

Levothyroxine intolerance
I have felt dreadfully ill ever since I started taking Levothyroxine when I became hypothyroid in October 18 following RAI treatment in June 18. I was suffering side-effects from the carbimazole and was told that it was easier to treat an under-active thyroid than an overactive one. The deterioration

Cholesterol 5:2
I am 56 with ectopics, aorta regurgitation & aorta dilatation and lupus. My cholesterol has come back at 5:2. Not sure whether to start statins - GP says it’s up to me at this stage. Just would welcome any views. Thank you.

Is this unusual ?
Had chest pain etc at start of a walking holiday abroad. Next 7 days walked 60 miles - kept getting out of breath. 10 days later no symptoms but went to GP who put me on aspirin and statins and referred to cardiology. Due to covid took 6 months to get scan - not conclusive but confirmed I had a problem

The can of worms that is Statins!
I have just had a discussion with mum about taking statins, she is going for a definite no to them (someone we know had bad side effects). I know they are one of the most common drugs taken, and that they do have side effects, worse for some than others. Has anyone not taken them when prescribed? Has

Statins n stents
As other members experienced anxiety and depression after MI stents , had heart attack 6 years ago and feel it’s totally ruined my life . The anxiety attacks are real and totally debilitating and the symptoms mimic heart attack to the letter , I’ve wrap myself in cotton wool I feel , if I do anything

Cholesterol Medication.
Hello all, Had HA in May, whilst in hospital my cholesterol was 5.9, had recent blood test and cholesterol is now 2.87. This is due to medication and diet changes, My question is will I be able to come off statins or is it a life medication now? Thanks.

Statins Reduce COVID-19 Severity, Likely by Removing Cholesterol That Virus Uses to Infect.
There are no Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved treatments for COVID-19, the pandemic infection caused by a novel coronavirus. While several therapies are being tested in clinical trials, current standard of care involves providing patients with fluids and fever-reducing medications. To speed

Liver function tests
I had chest pains a few weeks ago, went to A&E and after 8 hours I was discharged, told to take it easy and see the cardiac nurse. I am now down for echocardiogram, reviewing my other arteries and existing stents (full metal jacket of 4 stents), possible angiogram, stress test, plus full review of meds

Husband was wrong : not hard headed after all!
Hi all, Flew 8 hours from Canada to Switzerland last week to find out if I can ultimately receive FUS PTT. It turns out that yes, except for low skull density ratio (SDR) of 0.34, measured with CAT scan during assessment. Soooo, husband was wrong all these years, I am not hard headed after all! It
