Concerned about latest Cholesterol Results
I am a 35 year old female in the UK weighing 145lbs. Had lipid profile done as part of routine bloods. These results have gone up since my last test 6 months ago. ***Please note I DID NOT fast for this test as I was unaware the GP was doing my cholesterol *** I have also done the American conversion

Israeli experts show that some already widely used drugs help fight COVID-19.
I stumbled across this while searching for vaccine safety information for my wife- she has both LUPUS and antiphosopholipid syndrome. Looks like statins, Pepcid, Anti-cholesterol fibrates, and even Viagra can help tamp it down. I'm on 3 of them plus Vit D & C. Time to make a reservation at my favorite

Fit as a fiddle til 51 when the bad genes from Mum and Dad kicked in. They both smoked and Dad had TB & Rheumatic fever as a lad, so he was suddenly carried away by a heart attack aged 51 and she ended up with a teflon aorta ten years later. I was surprised as I was a cyclist and kept very fit, stopped

Statins and Type 2 Diabetes
Not strictly speaking an MPN question but I’d be interested to know if anyone has had a similar experience of statins and insulin resistance as a possible side effect. When I was first diagnosed with ET 17 years ago my GP put me on Simvastatin to reduce my cholesterol, which was only slightly high, and

Feeling Yukkkk
Hi haven’t been on here for a moan in a little while, but today is one of those days, I have been doing not to bad for a week or two but now I feel rotten again, I’m wondering whether it has anything to do with the new medication I’ve been put on. I’ve just started taking aspirin and statins, has anyone

Any ideas on why my Neutrophils have been low in range or under range for some years now please?
Hi All STILL looking for answers for muscle aches that started during a short 12 week course of statins ending in April 17, I came across these Neutrophil results - all low in range or under range. The aches have continued and progressed since then. However, on a good note, I have had a very few days

Has anyone any advice on tummy upsets with statins. I was put on atorvastatin at first which caused awful tummy upset. It has since been changed to resuvastatin. Seems like it’s having the same effect on me

Ulcerative colitis/oral thrush
Hi every one. I have uc which I’m controlling really welll. I’m getting oral thrush. It’s so bad today that my tongue is twice it’s size and extremely sore. I’ve a burning sensation in my throat and it feels slightly inflamed. I’m pitching up some oral dactorin which seems to work better than the nystatin

Burning Mouth Syndrome
BMS home remedy?? Hi i have been suffering with my mouth and tongue really sore & burning. I do get this every so often and usually see my GP who prescribes Nystatin. I wondered if anybody else suffers with this and has come up with a home remedy. When i googled it the advice was ice chips, change toothpaste

What do I do?
Have just had a phone call from my health centre. The doctor is concerned about my cholesterol level. (10). This was the level I had when I was first tested on a whim whilst in holiday over 20 years ago. I watched my diet and got it down to 6 something but doctors said I should go on statins. Was given

CHOLESTEROL AND STATINS
Hi all, Ok, I had thyroid bloods taken at surgery last wednesday 18th November and whilst I have no results as yet I have received a text from surgery asking me to make an appointment to discuss my cholesterol and statins? I am presuming they have done other tests on my blood sample that I was unaware

Statins sleep terrors
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had any trouble sleeping and waking whilst on statins? (10mg Rousavastatin) I find myself wide awake in the middle of the night in a panic after having had a terrible nightmare, followed by strange thoughts. I'm also finding that I'm completely miserable
