TSH 4.61 (0.4 - 4.0) under medicating!
After everyone's help and realising that I was being under medicated following a recent blood test, I have now been back to see the Doc. I thought you would like to know that he has upped my thyroxine by 25mg to 150mg and prescribed ferrous sulphate as my ferritin levels were a measly 16 ug/L (25-300

6 Years of coughing, coughing coughing. Does anyone have a similar experience?
I started coughing in 2008 and I am still coughing, 6 years on. Praise for my GP, who has sent me for various tests. X-ray, Barium Meal, Spirometry, tubes down my nostril and down my throat and a lot of etcs, all trying to find out what is causing the cough cough cough. I cough all year round, Winter

TSH 4.61 (0.4-4.0) Under medicating!
After posting these results a couple of weeks ago I finally got to see the doc today and thought I would give you an update as requested! He has upped my thyroxine to 150mg and prescribed ferrous sulphate 200mg 1 x twice daily. I go back in a month to have my ferritin rechecked and back in 3 months

ACTH test done but I want these other tests done
I had my ACTH Stim Test done this morning - although I only saw the nurse this is what I've found out: - The Endo/doctor will tell me the result when it comes back. - The nurse who carried out the test explained that the doctors aren't sure why I'm poorly and want to check my adrenal function - but

C T Scans are minor but serious problem.
Up until yesterday (Jan 22 2014) I was alwaysknew to drink a lot of fluids after the C T Scan to rid my system of the Barium that will stop the Mississippi river if left unchecked . Without informing the people that hand out these little warning papers , someone at M D Anderson decided to add a laxative

I have been on valium for over three years now. I know I am addicted to them. Help!
I need them badly for when I have a panic attack, especially when in the public. I can't leave the house without taking them to get out. Yet they also make my anxiety worse. I have tried so many anti-depressants. they don't work. I don't know what to do. I feel like I will always be like this. There

Anaemia and endless tests for the cause
Has anyone else had to undergo five progressively invasive, separate tests for colo-rectal (bowel) cancer just because they have been diagnosed with anaemia? It will have been five months of investigations and worry before I get the final decision (fingers crossed for the all-clear but I can't help getting

Bad anxiety
I am new here and just wanted to post because I am experiencing the worst anxiety ever it just doesn't stop I think it stems from loneliness and fear of being alone forever. I told my dad and he actually yelled at me as he feels I should be able to control it. But I can't. It's not the sort of thing

Palpitations with low iron?
The last week or two I've been suffering with palpitations. These are not the loud, thumping ones but more of a flutter. The last two days they seem to be happening more often than I've experienced them before. They happen during the day. Two weeks ago I discovered that my ferritin was 33 (range

Make it stop, please!
You'll have to forgive me if I lose my focus in this post, I'm going to type it off the top of my head to match my current, exact thoughts. A few months ago I posted here about a number of gastro symptoms that were plaguing me every day. Well guess what? Nothing has changed. I still suffer daily from
