Iron and Levothyroxine
We see a lot of people asking questions about iron here. One thing that is frequently repeated is that you must take any iron supplement well away from levothyroxine. As with so many topics, the basic idea of taking iron well away from levothyroxine is well known and understood. The underlying reasons

Hi :) At weightlifting 3 days ago I felt a sharp tweak in my back during an unusually wild jerk, and put it down to a muscle pull. I have an answer to my problems - partially blocked bowel by a hernia.
Hi, just to follow on from my previous posts on blockage and A & E etc. After another ct scan, which was clear I then had a barium enema x ray and that was also clear. The bowel consultant said I have a insisional hernia which is partially blocking the bowel. This is causing the pain in my neck and shoulder

Borax - has anybody tried this for their arthritis?
Happy Easter every one :-) Hello I have been doing a lot of research in remedies for my osteoarthritis pain. I also have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and I am gluten/wheat sensitive/intolerant. So I have been gluten free for nearly a year and I find it helps. I am not completely pain free but it is considerably

Difficulty Sleeping
I have difficulty sleeping because of joint pain and headaches. The GP gave me zopiclone for 4 weeks but would not renew because of their addictiveness. I have tried hypnosis tapes, relaxation and classical music, ibuprofen gels do nothing, tried chamomile tea, valerian, hops, etc from Health Food store

I've now seen a gastro consultant who thinks it's my stomach not working properly that makes me ill, not my herniated liver.
I've now got to have a test which is similar to a barium swallow to see if my stomach can empty properly. He thinks that this may be causing my symptoms! He's not sure if it is my liver. The consultants just won't refer me to a liver specialist!

Heart Attack and Levothyroxine
I had been under a lot of stress, my Dad died, my husband left, looking after 2 children and also caring for elderly Mum. But thought it was all under control and felt fine and was busy. But felt tired but not unwell. I am 56 years old and was put on 50mg to start on Levothyroxine as my TSH was high

Gp says pay for supplements yourself!
4 weeks ago I had bloods taken and all minerals and vitamins were very low in range but, in particular, serum ferritin was 16 (25-300). TSH was 4.61 (0.4-4.0) and I wasn't feeling as well as I would have liked. GP prescribed ferrous sulphate for 4 weeks and results today were 41 (25-300). I stayed

Non Prescription tablets for endo
My ex girlfriend has endo, She's currently being prescribed tramadol (8 a day in pairs) but these don't seem to help her a lot so she swaps them for clonazepam, but also gets Valium of 'the streets', diazepam she prefers, but it's hit and miss what she gets, the last ones were 'ardin' which are Indian

Decided to seek a private psychologist !
£250 per hour ! Amazing eh! The fact that the medical profession only masks symptoms and has no conclusive understanding of the brain, basically means that you are paying for someone who has about as much chance as fixing anxiety as a plumber !! My reason for going is that the NHS won't prescribe

Yet MORE symptoms, I know I'm a pain but anyone recognise these?
I posted yesterday about a burning face, it's burning again tonight but also tonight I have very swollen ankles and feet (worse on the left foot) and my tummy is also bloated. Feel bloated all over but it's my ankles and feet that are bothering me. My legs feel very heavy too and my feet are warm. Swollen
