Milestones.

Seems to me that my milestones associated with my cobalamin issues tend to be known to me only in hindsight.

I thought about it and came to understand that is the way most milestones actually happen and it is only in hindsight and my narrative of the past that milestones become apparent.

I need to say good-bye to my loading than maintenance phase as well as my 1 mg of hydroxocobalamin EOD phase. Hard as I lived that for 2.5 years until I took a leap of faith.

Thing is for me a leap of faith is not leaping over a chasm to the other side rather leaping into a void and experiencing what happens.

All that being said my symptoms have improved for 3 years. It was not until I decided to inject more cobalamin 6 months ago that any of them started to resolve. That I will call when I started to treat appropriately.

Still more work to be done exploring, discovering and designing. Oh bother!

Hi, in retrospect I think all my energy in the early days was taken up with fighting. Fighting illness and fighting to get correct treatment. Couldn't take stock of what was happening to me at the time.

Now, several years later and thankfully, relatively stable health wise, I can hardly believe what I went through !

Apart from my body occasionally warning me that I'm overdoing things and under treating myself, the past seems like another world !

I know I'm fortunate, and my wish is that everyone here can also attain better health.

Good luck with your endeavours xx

Thank you for that. I sometimes lose sight of how ill I was when first DX. Not fun dealing with the difficult task of exploring, discovering about what is known about B12 while experiencing the neurological symptoms of fatigue, brain fog etc.

It's a cliché, but we all really do need to be kind to ourselves ! Xx

I see it not as a cliche rather a platitude. 🙂 Thank you for the reminder I am capable of becoming myopicc with regards to supplementation.

It was easier when I had the pain to use as a measure to evaluate the efficacy of my self treatment.

I on some level miss the pain as it was known my whole life. I am outside of my comfort zone.

Did you up your injections in the last 6 months from 1mg EOD for 2.5 years previous to that.

Yes, it was 6 months ago that I abandoned the concept of EOD. I showed marked improvement when I started injecting 0.3 mg of hydrocabalamin 3 times a day.
