walking around for three hours
my urogynaecologist has put me on 10 mg amitriptyline every night. I started it yesterday. I was staggering around for three hours. My left leg and foot were jumping with rls. I am also on 900 mg of gabapenguin and 20 mg of fluoxetine. I believe the fluoxetine and amitriptyline are making my rls much

Tablets - zopiclone/amitriptyline
I’ve been prescribed zopiclone (only a short dose for 5 days) to help me sleep with tinnitus. I’ve read some reviews though saying this can make tinnitus worse. Anyone have any experience with this tablet? I wondered if I should check about amitriptyline instead , as I have taken this before (prior

Amitriptyline side effects?
I have been taking Citalopram 20mg in the morning for some years to help with anxiety and they help a lot, but recently I have also been prescribed Amitriptyline 10mg taken at night to help with my lower stomach pain. I decided to stop the citalopram a couple of days ago just incase it was not a good

PMR Leading to Fibromyalgia???
I was diagnosed with PMR in Dec 22 and have been on a rollercoaster of Prednisolone doses From 20mg-0mg in the first 6 months, which I feel are part of my problem. Went up to 12.5 after being off completely for 2 weeks in May for a PET Scan, and have been Tapering since July, currently on 7mg and on

PELVIC PAIN AFTER TRANSVAGINAL ULTRASOUND
On the 2nd August went for a ultrasound after I had a post menopausal bleed. I was told that this wouldn't hurt and not to be concerned. Well it did hurt, I think the sonographer was a bit heavy handed, put it this way he would have given Mary Berry's Kitchen Aid a run for their money. I left feeling

Duloxetine and insomnia
Hi all I reached out to the group recently about switching to duloxetine from amitriptyline and got lots of helpful advice. I’m now on 30mg of duloxetine and will be increasing further soon but I’m struggling with the side effect of not sleeping. I know it’s common but hoped this would have passed after

IBS and Amitriptyline
I have started taking Amitriptyline 10mg a day for Post infectious IBS-D. The whole week was ok with no symptoms but since yesterday, it started again while I ate some food out of my diet routine. My question is do I need to stick to low FODMAP diet while taking medicine or can I eat any food? Also

Amitriptyline and cortisol
Hi everyone, Here is one of many studies concluding that amitriptyline suppresses the HPA axis and significantly reduces cortisol levels. I have found many peer-reviewed articles claiming the same thing about opioids and benzodiazpines also, but it seems to be more pronounced for amitriptyline. I

I’m currently having investigations into Endo-sorry long post but need some advice or any reassurance:)
Hi I’m Sara and I’ve just turned 22, this month, and over the last 3 years I have symptoms (similar to the ones listed for endometriosis) and they have become more severe or more frequent/longer episodes that have been stopping me from working or functioning properly (exercise, sex, going out); it has

Is this GCA? My first post here.
Hello The last few weeks I’ve been waking with a headache. I get pain behind my eye and ear on the same side too. The top of my head hurts. Can be tender too. I’ve developed an aching on the forehead, side of face today since waking with a headache. It’s tender there too. Can you see the dark shadow

Alternatives to steroids for PMR
Hi, I am still awaiting diagnosis for what to me is almost certainly PMR. My GP seems happy to let me take a vast cocktail of other pills but won't prescribe steroids not least because amazingly my CRP and ESR tests came in normal. So I'm on Naproxen and paracetamol (two of each at a time), one amitriptyline

Amitriptyline
Hi all My GP suggested 10mg of Amitriptyline for my neck tension/pain and tension headaches - I took my first dose last night and slept much better but feel pretty dizzy and light headed this morning, annoyingly on top of the cervicogenic dizziness I already have! I’m up for carrying on though - is

Amitriptyline
Hi Saw GP yesterday for my ongoing IBS type symptoms (not officially diagnosed) I have diverticulosis though. He has prescribed me a low dose of the above medication, which I’ve yet to start taking. Has anyone on here taken them for IBS? I would love to hear your thoughts & experiences.
