I have been taking Citalopram 20mg in the morning for some years to help with anxiety and they help a lot, but recently I have also been prescribed Amitriptyline 10mg taken at night to help with my lower stomach pain.
I decided to stop the citalopram a couple of days ago just incase it was not a good idea to be on two different ant-depressants.
The Amitriptyline do seem to be helping, but today for the first time I woke up and feel very agitated, just wonder if it could be caused by this medication and if so, what should I do.
Any thoughts please.

Did you consult your doctor about stopping one of your medications? If they did not tell you to stop taking them then that could be the reason why you are feeling that way.
Check with your doctor about the dosage and if you need to take both.
I was taking Citalopram for depression and wanted to come off it as I felt I no longer needed it. The surgery pharmacist advised me to gradually reduce the dose over months, I cut tablets in half and took them days apart etc until I stopped entirely. Even so, I suffered agitation and depressive symptoms again. My doctor had told me that it is an illness and if I was diabetic I wouldn't stop my medication. It is so hard to live with depression med free, but I am taking herbal tablets now. Coming off anti-depressants is a big deal and I still have a way to go. I'm just about to start amitriptyline for chronic migraine!
