Weight gain
I was diagnosed with FM at beginning of lockdown and have been taking fluoxetine and amitriptyline since January. I have not been exercising as much and I have put on loads of weight! I'm not sure amitriptyline is working - still wake up in night and quality of sleep (according to fitbit) is no different

Acid reflux 24/7!
I was on Amitriptyline for a round 6 months to sort my chest pain which would eventually ease acid reflux symptoms (supposedly); Unfortunately, I saw no difference aside from terrible adverse affects. I’m off it now. However, I’m still looking for a solution to resolve my functional heartburn, as it’

Any meds you'd recommend as genuinely helpful?
Hi, I received a diagnosis of fibro 12 days ago and have been too angry & upset to even consider what this means, other than a future of being dismissed by doctors. I shall probably have a lot of questions for you all over the coming weeks (or months!) but the first one I wanted to ask was is there anything

Chronic daily headaches
Headaches for 3 months. I have had daily headaches for about 12 weeks. Because it is my only symptom the GP said it wasn’t a tumour. I am taking a amitriptyline but only helps me sleep at night. Been diagnosed with chronic daily headaches. Having a private MRI scan soon

I'm new to this damned illness!!
Hi everyone, was 'officially' diagnosed with Fibromyalgia half way through lockdown. It couldn't have come at a worse time as I was just coming out of a severe bout of PTSD following my wife's cancer battle. At the same time I was also diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the impact of this plus

Fybramalgia I'm told I have, please read and offer any advice, thanks in advance
Hello all, First post, sorry it's a bit long. I have been struggling physically for the last 6 months, after falling off a ladder only 2 MTRS and fell on my feet. Since that point though I have deteriorated from an healthy active person to someone I don't recognise, no offence but I'm only in the middle

Post Stroke Pain and Numbness
My mum had a stroke recently and she now has some numbness and pins and needles in her right side. As I understand it this is post stroke pain or neuropathic pain. 3 weeks ago the doctor took her off her the 30mg citalopram and put her on an initial dose of 10mg of amitriptyline. Her anxiety and depression

Would using CBD oil affect my PBC in any way
I am a returning blogger and would love to reconnect with all of you. I have had pbc for a few years now and manage my condition with URSO. I want to stop taking amitriptyline because it makes me really dehydrated and I keep waking for a drink so very disturbed sleep pattern.

Feeling low in Amitriptyline
Hi everyone, Firstly thank you for all your replies & support since I joined here. I’ve been on Amitriptyline for a month now but have noticed some days I feel very down, not my normal self. Pain is better but I don’t like this side effect. I think I will persevere and hope this improves

Update 3 years in
Hi everyone I have written for a while but thought I would update on the my progress. Down to 1 mg of steriod. I am taking 10mg Amitriptyline at night. It doesn’t treat polymyalgia but it sure helps me sleep. I was one who wanted a quick journey off the pred. With wise counsel of this site I think
