I was diagnosed with OA and C.R.P. S several years ago, the pain has been dreadful and effects my sleeping, my GP put me on Amitriptyline to help with the sleeping problems and Gabapetin to cope with pain, but it's not helping as it's getting worse but the GP and consultants are happy to keep me on the same medication and have had several morphine shots also, and its literally draining, I'm not sleeping well, my body and joints ache and I can't enjoy the things what I enjoy doing

Yea, I have severe OA and taking Amitriptyline 75mgs at night and Gabapentin 600mgs 3x daily. But the secret is to take an Analgesic tablet with the Gabapentin as they work well together. Gabapentin alone only treats neurological pain. Try it to see how you get on. Good Luck.

It's definitely not neurological, I only take Gabapetin 300mg which was increased by my doctor daily and Amitriptyline 10mg ×2 on a night before I go bed, I've had three years of this and it's just irony just wish I was back to the way I was I hate feeling like this

Ive suffered with severe chronic pain for 20 /25 years now plus other med problems..ive lost count...but i understand ur frustration of the pain, no sleep,n meds not doing much.

All i can say is..ur in the right place as we all get it here n help each other.

Do u use distraction to help?? How do u deal with ur pain??

Lots of us could give ya some ideas that help us.Doesnt cure it but ur able to cope.

Best to ya.

I do have a distraction.....I tend to draw a lot which takes my mind off it....and then it comes back and tend to lose interest

Great to hear u have a distraction....drawing.

Have u thought about coloring? Ive heard tons of people mention coloring is also a great distraction,n i guess theres adult coloring books out on the market also.

Never tried colouring and some of the pictures in the books do look lame....but anything is worth a shot

I know it does sound rediculous, but ive heard people say it really helps.

I personally need music for distraction.Louder the better .Helps but not a cure.

I’m on Nitrazepam because when I move or get spasms during the night I used to wake up - meaning I had so little sleep for my body to recover ready for another day. The only downside is a slight hangover feeling the next day but that wears off with me around 11am.
