Hi everyone,

Firstly thank you for all your replies & support since I joined here.

I’ve been on Amitriptyline for a month now but have noticed some days I feel very down, not my normal self. Pain is better but I don’t like this side effect. I think I will persevere and hope this improves

Hi, nice to meet you :) Imo I would say give it another few weeks. If your still having problems go back and have a word with your GP there is other medications out there x

Deffo agree with Dizzytwo! Give it another couple of weeks, then back to the Dr!!!!! I had a horrendous time on those meds, and changed to duloxytine, unfortunately that didn't work well for me either😔 had awful sweats with them......... Like, drenched!!! So then on to Tramadol, and vitamins with a "CLEAN DIET"..... Bingo........!!!! I truly hope you can find meds that will help you, it took a few years to get mine right, so don't stop, or put up with something that's not going to work out! Love and blessings my friend! 💕🙏🏽

some side effects from medications are transitory but if you are getting the same symptom after 6 weeks i would suggest going back to your gp . as has been mentioned there are many other meds hoping you find something that helps .

Hi there. I'd give it a little longer,,4 weeks isnt quiet longer enough to get into your system. If you don't mind me asking what dosage are you on? It might be that you need to jiggle about with it. It took me alittle while to get my dosage right for me. Hope you get sorted soon.

Good luck.

Good evening Sunnyseas

Sorry your having side effects with Amitriptyline, this is an anti-depressants and some of them can make you feel more down. I do take a very small dose of Amitriptyline - once a week, mainly to help with sleep, If I take it more frequently I get bad side effects.

I hope you can find something more suitable

Best wishes

Debs
