Hi, my lovely pen-pals! I'm having one of those morning where I feel as though I've had an insight, but not quite sure. So, I was hoping to "think out loud", and maybe I'd find out if it's just me, or if this is real. Here goes... I think of myself as a robust and capable person, but it's dawning on

Any advice re chronic migraines? No drugs help up to now
Hi , id like advice from anyone further down the line than me. I took preventive beta blockers and amitriptyline for ten years. Had a chronic migraine now for 1 year. Pain remedy pack - does yours look like this?
Hi my lovely pen pals! You know what? Our section here for Q&A often reads like purgatory. Lots of us land in when we're at our lowest. But, things can get better. So, I wanted to share what's in my "pain remedy pack" because.... Drum roll, I went for a walk at normal speed and didn't have to slow or

New medication.
Has anyone taken amitriptyline? My doctor put me on a dose of 25mg at bedtime. I looked up the side effects and I’m a little scared to start! I’m diabetic, have thyroid and depression and anxiety. I’ve recently been having chest/neck/back pain and some of the side effects are making me really nervous

Amitriptyline
ANSWERED Thanks to everyone who answered. The responses have been very helpful. I was also able to speak with the Clinical Pharmacist attached to my GP. Turns out it was my error, the amitriptyline was for IBS and not part of my rescue pack. Is Amitriptyline standard for copd exacerbations. I checked

Itchy skin after Immunotherapy
Can anyone recommend a treatment for itching. I finished my Immunotherapy in October last year which was a month less than the year because I had rashes and terribly itching everywear. I thought the itch would ease at some point. My doctor's have tried lots of different creams, steroid ointment, amitriptyline

I am on Apixaban, Statins and blood pressure tablets. I suffer with thoracic back pain which when it flares is awful, a mixture of muscle and nerve pain. I am only able to take paracetamol which is useless in my case. I have also been advised by the G.P. and pharmacist that I should try Amitriptyline

pain in the head
anyone had experience of Neuralgia? I am going crazy with stabbing pain , RHS of my skull , behind my ear. Spoke to GP on phone, she prescribe Amitriptyline 10 mgm. All this has done is make me lethargic, but not taken the pain away. It is exacerbated by eating on that side, also yawning. I am desperate

Amitriptyline and A Fib
Hi there. I’ve had AF for years but had an ablation in 2014 and manage without meds at the moment, although I’ve been told I’ll likely need another ablation in the next few years. I’ve just been prescribed amitriptyline for nerve related pain but the leaflet has made me seriously question if I should

Amitriptyline - Does it help?
Hi, I asked my GP what I could do for pain management for endometriosis (I have stage IV, now awaiting MRI scan before next steps). He gave me a prescription for amitriptyline (10mg/day). I read online that it is handy to take it about 3hrs before bedtime because it can make you drowsy, so this way

18 months of sensory overload and headaches
Hi all, I’m 18 months into a debilitating illness and still searching for answers. I’m hoping that there are people in here who can share their wisdom. I’d just returned from a holiday with friends, sleep deprived and in need of some rest. A couple of days later, I started to get an odd sensation in

Advice or help
I began suffering extreme pain in my right buttock around 3 years ago. Prior to this I was fit and healthy. After several steroid and pain injections I was told I needed an operation on my spine as my nerve was trapped by a disc at l5s1. I had the operation which briefly helped however since then things

PMR and Ocular Shingles
I’m Griggser’s wife and I’m just updating on his current condition as I’m really worried at the moment. I know he posted at the weekend that he had a pain in his eye socket and head and hoped it wasn’t GCA. After a very difficult few days it has been diagnosed as Ocular Shingles. We didn’t even know
