At the end of my tether.....
I am just exhausted here with pain and need some advice. I have psoriatic arthritis and what I now know as bouts of fibromyalgia. My feet have been in agony for years and now my knees and shoulders. I am on consentyx which has helped my skin but my joints are still in a lot of pain, constantly. During

The Importance of reading Patient Information Leaflets.
I saw my GP yesterday re issues I'm having with a slipped disc, as a result of that visit here's an email I've just sent to the surgery. Hi, I saw Dr xxxxx yesterday morning, he prescribed me some Amitriptyline 10mg. I read the patient information in the medication and it states Do not take Amitriptyline

Anyone had a surgeon who operates on a 'Frozen Pelvis' for a second time?
Hi everyone, It's a long story, but does anyone have experience of surgery on a Frozen Pelvis for a second time? I had stage 4 endometriosis with severe bowel adhesions 13 years ago (age 36). I had full hysterectomy and both ovaries removed. My bowel had to be dissected due to the adhesions and I was

Taking amitriptyline for the first time
Hi, I'm new to this group. I was diagnosed with fibro last month when I went to my annual rheumatology check up for my rheumatoid arthritis. It was a bit of a shock because I thought it was my arthritis flaring up - but at the same time it's not a surprise because both my sister and mum suffer with fibro

Has anyone tried Nortriptyline or Amitriptyline?
24 years with this condition and I am close to rock bottom. The last 5 or so years, since hitting my mid 40’s have been awful with virtually daily symptoms. The last two years have been so bad. In 2019 I had a colonoscopy, a gastroscope, several ultra sound scans and a ct scan. Nothing picked up, which

Pregabalin - from 50 mg to 300 mg on my own.
Hi all, I am from the Blood cancer and Fibromyalgia sites and this is my first time on "Pain". My new GP put me on Pregabalin 50 mg a day, rising by 25 mg every other day to 300mg. From the first day, I got a night's sleep like I hadn't had for 60 years! And I have been so refreshed, in a good mood

How long will I feel like this?
My GP prescribed Amitriptyline for me about six weeks ago. I'm having really horrible side effects but GP says they will wear off. I can't sleep, feel really drowsy and my thoughts are very negative and muddled up. I know medication can affect people differently but has anyone else felt like this

Pressure from rectum
I have a problem with urgency when there is faeces or wind in my rectum. It started when I was constipated and strained a lot and I think I must have damaged my pelvic floor. Kegels don't seem to help and if I do them too much it makes the problem worse. I noticed that when I started on amitriptyline

Fibro diagnosis - and a prescription to do karate!
After having my NHS rheumatology appointment cancelled twice in three months, then unsuccessfully trying to get a private consultation (turned out the hospital I wanted to go to don't actually do private consultations), I finally got seen by a visiting rheumatologist at my local hospital this weekend

Confused
Hi everybody,. What can I take too prevent migraine with aura,. I have open angle glaucoma. GP has prescribed amitriptyline,. But I am not happy, as the leaflet says it increases pressure. GP is reluctant to change this until I have tried it. I am worried ,as migraine are getting more frequent.

RLS controls my life
I am totally overwhelmed by all your replies to my recent post and my RLS. I feel comforted that at last someone understands what we are going through. It’s so hard when people say oh yeah I get that. I hate it so much and what it has done to me. Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply
