stool withholding - dulcosoft liquid an option?
Hi We have a nearly 4 y/o daughter who started withholding about 4 months ago. She point blank refused any mivicol or cosmocol, not even the flavoured ones so we were told to try lactulose. But even then we can only get about 15ml in her a day because she likes water. someone recommended Dulcosoft

Extremely bad acid heartburn
hi, On here about my mum again. She is suffering really bad with acid reflux. She hasn’t had chemo for 4 weeks but they did attempt debulking surgery which didn’t work. So we are not sure if it’s something to do with the blood thinners or she’s worried it is the cancer. has anyone else suffered

Study: diet of dark green leafy vegetables reduces ferritin
Reduction in Ferritin Concentrations among Patients Consuming a Dark-Green Leafy Vegetable–Rich, Low Inflammatory Foods Everyday (LIFE) Diet

Grumbling oesophagus?
Several days ago I had general anaesthetic for the first time (cardioversion). It was all fine, but I soon noticed a grumbling oesophagus -- first when I put in earplugs on the morning after (noisy neighbour). Then last night, 72hrs later, the noises (in my oesophagus) were audible to me as I sat on

Small bowel intestinal overgrowth
I have been diagnosed by my gastroenterologist with sibo after a breath test. The treatment prescribed is xifaxan. I’m waiting for approval by insurance. I’m also in treatment for CLL with Zanubrutinib which I began in May last year. I have had stomach issues, sometimes really severe, since beginning

Thyroid private blood tests - new company
Hi - A couple weeks ago someone posted a new company offering thyroid tests that have blood drawing clinics in London and is very reasonably priced. I have just had an unfortunate experience with Medichecks as the clinic I chose in London had no appointments for over a month. I am being issued a refund

Distended stomach & abdomen after ablation
Bit of a strange one this, so thought I'd ask if anyone else has had a similar experience and a diagnosis. I had my 2nd catheter ablation 4 days ago under Gen Aanaesthetic; the ablation, plus cardioversion, seems to have gone well (allowing for it being very early days) and the groin wound is healing

I have my colonoscopy this Thursday
hi all I have been request by my gp to go for a colonoscopy after my fit test came back with a score of 129… at the time I didn’t really ask what the score meant because my mind was racing after being told that individual stool sample was positive. My symptoms started at the start of January, going

Sigmoidoscopy
Hi Had a sigmoidoscopy on Saturday, which I had under sedation, I found it a bit uncomfortable. Diverticulosis found, which I already knew about from a colonoscopy a few years ago. Biopsies taken. Yesterday bowel felt fine, however today I am in quite a bit of lower bowel pain. Just wondering why I

Diet?
I now realise that many if not all, who have hypothyroidism, also have gut problems. When I first started trying to inform myself about all this, I got into a stalemate regarding diet - I’d always loved broccoli, cabbage, swede mash, kimchi etc, not to excess but whenever I felt like having them. But

Longtime glaucoma patient
Hi. I just wanted to say that my experience with Glaucoma has been over many, many years. I’ve been very fortunate to have had treatment, isoptocarpine which was horrible. I have Myopia and these drops made it almost impossible to see for any length of time. They were to reduce the eye pressure quickly

Freiberg's disease?
I started with pain in my right foot last December, associated with stiffness and itching about halfway up the foot, all causing me to limp. It feels for all the world as if there's a group of bones all bunched together which I feel like hitting with a hammer to get them back in place- I said this to

Timings of NDT and iron supplements
Hi all, I'm struggling to maintain ferritin levels whilst also trying to adhere to the timings of iron supplements around my NDT and other vitamins. My ferritin is rarely higher than 20s (in the last ten years the highest it has been was 52 just once). I've been on NDT for a year and am gradually

Ah...I am breathing easier
This is for everyone (though it is old news for most) but I haven't ordered Pan Pharma hydroxy for a year...in fact I believe I got the end of the lot and when it finally came it had a very short expiration. It also took 6 nail-biting weeks to get here. I was worried but have noticed the trend of it

Thoughts please
I hope this post is not too long but it's hard to fully explain. I have had severe RLS for 30 years - it started during pregnancy but unfortunately never left and has only worsened over the years. I feel like I have been on every drug with minimal help. I take 0.5 which I went through augmentation

Gastric endo - help!
I haven’t posted in the longest time but really need some help. I have extensive disease requiring surgery, thought to be bowel involvement. MRI due in the next week. I’ve been having dreadful constipation the last few weeks requiring manual evacuation (sorry TMI but it has been awful). Then two days
