Anyone opted for private Cataract surgery?
Hi, I have seronegative RA and am on Benepali. Have just had a routine eye test and been told I need cataract surgery. I thought I needed new glasses but it turns out it's cataracts! Anyway my optician has referred me on the NHS via my GP but I'm wondering about going private as I have no idea how long

Sjogrens - eye pain/migraine
I'm getting severe headaches that are around my eyes. I wake up with my head & eyes killing me. Is this just dry eyes? My light sensitivity is off the charts. Has anyone else expierenced this? Is this a Sjogren symptom?

My Cancer and other health issues update.
After months of pretty bad news over my bladder cancer which is high grade and had spread to the inner linings of my bladder. I was told I could not have BCG anymore and that was gloomy news. I have an appointment tomorrow for a new three bladder cancer BCG Treatment. I was surprised I was having

Has anyone heard of CSS. My dr said this can cause restless legs and stems from childhood trauma. Sort of crappy to think that yes, my childhood was super traumatic and potentially from that I still need to suffer.

Hi all. I have had concussion since August, after a fall when I banged my head. Although improving, I have a problem with bright light/glare
As above - I had a fall in August and banged my neck, chin. I am improving but can't deal with light (as in a bright sky), or glare. I also have difficulty when there is a lot of noise (as in grandchildren!). I can't wear earphones.... Does anyone know of research into coloured lenses and how certain

Interesting info
My husband had a dvt event a few weeks ago and had the usual response of heparin injections for 4 days, and put on apixaban. I commented to him that Apixaban will sort out the clot in his femoral vein .The AC nurse stopped me and said,no, Apixaban does not work on actual clots it prevents further ones

I have some questions that maybe someone can help me with.
Hi! I have recently had some bloodwork and some new things popped up - and I was wondering if it is lupus related, or something entirely on its own. I am currently on Coumadin (Warfarin) for several pulmonary embolisms, and now my hemoglobin is high and my erythrocytes are high. Also, I am now

GCA and Vision update
As you all may recall, I was started in 60 mg. Prednisone in October. I am currently on 40 mg. I have now had 3 (weekly) injections of Actemra. I am still very concerned about my eyesight. I still see double at a distance, though it’s not as divergent as it was, I can read again up close, though, without

Cataract surgery advice please.
I've got glaucoma and I'm very short sighted. The left eye has got the glaucoma. The right eye isn't affected much with it yet, but does have the cataract. After they fit the new lens in my right eye, my shortsightedness apparently might be rectified. This will give me an enormous discrepancy between

Hair loss while tapering Prednisone
Hi. Yet another issue. My hair has started falling out in clumps. I am devastated. I had some loss when I was on Pred at different times over the last 5 years especially in the beginning. I began tapering to 2 mg then 1 in late spring and maintaining that except with some flares when I took more. This

Starbursts from new glasses driving me insane. Can anyone help?
Hi, I recently got 2 new pairs of glasses, one with Transitions lenses and one 'plain'. There's been a lot of faff with the Transitions because I didn't like the frames, but right at the outset I noticed I was suddenly getting these epic starbursts on lights (with both pairs), particularly in the distance

update: Zanabrutinib vs Obenven (O&V)
We are praying for Gods wisdom (James1:5), and we’re leaning toward the Zanabrutinib. The infusions and time and distance will be impactful to my husbands work and he’s prefer to go the simpler route. We learned he’s still 13Q and TP53 negative and his lymph nodes are reduced (we have used ALT for

Surgery and immuno suppressants
Hi everyone. I am due to have minor surgery on my wrist and have been asked by my surgeon to cease taking mycophenolate for a week before and a week after my operation (I presumed because of possible risk of infection?). I spoke to my rheumatologist about this and she considered it unnecessary to stop

Cimetidine
Hi, my doctor prescribed Cimetidine for my painful bladder, I have the impression that it exacerbates restless leg syndrome. I'd like to know your opinion before taking this medication. Thanks in advance.

Using ChatGPT to help us understand tinnitus. Thoughts? Here's an AI Assistant I've created for understanding Tinnitus
Just a topic for debate but I'm interested in your thoughts and maybe your direct experiences with AI to understand tinnitus. I'm assuming everyone has heard about AI and ChatGPT and other Generative AI tools. GPT is short for Generative Predictive Text. It is what it states (a convincing) prediction

Lipoid pneumonia
Earlier this year I had serious nose bleeds resulting in hospital admissions and cautery. Subsequently seen by ENT consultant who advised daily insertion of Vaseline into nostrils to prevent them drying out and possible further bleeds. Since then I found on the internet (various reputable sites)
