Hello all, I have to supplement both of the above because I am low in range. Every time I attempt to take them, the following day I have a stomach wracked with anxiety? Does this happen to anyone else? It’s as though I suddenly feel a bit unpleasantly hyper.? I’m taking 20,000 iu’s Vitamin D3 once a

Best bone supplements
I never know which supplements to take, or which are good. Can anyone recommend? Does anyone take this one? I have osteopenia age 45 through having my ovaries removed post cancer, and am very keen to stop any further bone loss. This forum is amazing, thanks so much for all the posts and advice. :) Rundown

Bad reaction to sublingual b12....
Hi All, After having a bad reaction to the Jarrows 1000mcg sublingual b12 which was an acne and dermatitis related bright red scaly rash over my face, I’ve decided I’m going to give the 50mcg cyanocobalamin tablets a good go to see if they raise my b12 levels. It says on the packet 1-3 a day so I’m thinking

Help with blood test results - taking too much levothyroxine?
Hello, I just got my results back (I'm still waiting for folate) from my latest blood test after starting levothyroxine earlier this year. I wasn't able to get a full thyroid panel (I'm overseas and it's not offered here) but I'm hoping you can give me some advice based on my results. I'm wondering if

lower back pain and right hip pain especially lying in bed
I had a DEXA scan just over 2 years ago as part of breast cancer treatment. This identified I had osteoporosis in my spine, I'm not sure of the scores or exactly where but I was told my hips are fine. I have had back problems on and off for years but generally with a visit to a chiropractor and exercise

Worried about Dad
Hello everyone, I am new to the group and need a bit of advice. My Dad is now 74 and takes statins due to a mild heart attack last year and had a stent put in. He asked me was there any vitamins he could take as his memory is starting to fail him. His older brother is also in a care home from last year

Further Update
Hi Following on from my previous update, I have now had a conversation with my GP regarding my follow up Dexa Scan result and it did not go well. The advice was still to take AA and this was put across very strongly. My GP is very good and I know she has my best interest at heart but I still declined

Medication help
I've just had some recent bloods done and my calcium is low so I've been prescribed
Adcal

New GP
Thought I would post an update as today I had a meeting with my new GP. She was very knowledgeable about PMR, had done a thesis on PMR while working in Edinburgh years ago. She praised this forum very highly and congratulated me on finding it so promptly, said the experts on this forum would keep me

What supplements do folk use for PMR ?
I was wondering what supplements people use with PMR to help both the condition and to counteract the pred side effects? I’m coming up to the first anniversary of diagnosis and have tapered to about 6mg which I can’t get below at the moment. I supplement with Fultium D3 daily and a cod liver oil capsule

Further advice please
I have been on pred for 2.5 years (PMR) starting at 15mg and slowly reducing to 1mg and taking a daily chewable
Adcal
-
D3
. I purchased VitD3 (which I have not taken) and VitK2 which I discovered also included
D3
so I have been taking
Adcal
-
D3
and one tablet of VitK2 /D3 for a month.

New member requiring advice
I have been recently diagnosed with PMR and have been on 15mg Prednisolone for 5 weeks together with Omeprazole, Adcal and Alendronic Acid. Any advice on do's and don'ts would be really helpful, in particular about diet as I don't want to gain weight. Incidentally I find that taking the Prednisolone

Indigestion
Hi I’m two and a half years into PMR and now tapered to 9.5 mg Pred. Quite suddenly I am getting attacks of quite fierce indigestion which seem to come after taking AdCal. Is it that or my body getting as fed up with Pred as I am (😀)? Has anyone else found this an issue?

Health update
Hello I have not posted for sometime but not because I have forgotten my fellow PMR sufferers. Since I stopped my steroid treatment at the beginning of November 2018, family issues, including a bereavement have kept me very busy. Together with work (really looking forward to retirement but still 2 years

Stomach acid effects on oral Bisphosphonates
Has anyone got experience of how Bisphosphonates are affected by stomach acid? Could reduced stomach acid cause unresponsive esophageal valves that then leak stomach contents after taking Bisphosphonates? Presumably, Bisphosphonates are tested on healthy volunteers, not those people with coexisting
