Thanks all for your advice on follow-up tests after tests showed I was hyper despite having had a full thyroidectomy 14 years ago. You gave me the confidence to be pushy!! My GP was very reticent but my immunologist acted very quickly. These are my latest results. I am also booked in for a thyroid

Vitamin D
There are two forms of vitamin D – vitamin D2 & vitamin D3 and to remain in good health, it is important to ensure our bodies receive adequate levels of both...Vitamin D2 is ingested from a healthy, balanced diet and can be derived from everyday foods such as: Egg yolks and fatty fish like; trout, mackerel

A Different View on Bone Protection
Replied to a question about bone protective medications on another forum today, and thought it might be of interest to some here at FPC. So pasting it here. Full disclosure: I have been taking denosumab (Prolia or Xgeva) for over 5 years and currently have normal bone density. I also take Calcium supplement

Was told to take 1,000 mg / day to help prevent degrading into Osteoporosis as taking Prednisone can progress that disease. So, started reading scientific

After 15 years of being fobbed off as anxious and being asked to do breathing exercises, Last year, I found that I was low in B12 and got liquid supplements. I must add that

Anyhow, my GP prescribed me AA and

early May on basis I had been on Pred since PMR arrived in March 2021. I plucked up courage to say I would rather not take (esp) AA unless I knew it was necessary.

vitamin advice
hi, I’ve got myself bogged down in an effort to take supplements to help with bone loss. I was diagnosed with osteopenia following a DEXA scan. I don’t want to take Alendronic acid and my GP agreed with me taking vitamin D3 + K2 mk7 and magnesium glycinate and to have a further DEXA scan in three years
