Adcal-D3

Hi, I fractured a vertebrae in my spine in September. I’m 66 with no family history of osteoporosis. Besides Hashimotos I also have Sjögren’s. My blood tests last year showed my vitamin D levels were inadequate so at my GP’s request I took vitamin D3. However, after a few months I began to have heart

Mornings

I had a dexa scan a year ago which showed borderline osteopenia and I take Adcal-D3. I also showed negative on the Rheumatoid factor test. My last CRP and ESR were on 14th Feb and both good. I have since reduced to 5mg from 5.5mg. The wrist pain has become more noticeable since then.

CATCH UP & DEXA SCAN

I have been prescribed Adcal D3 which I am struggling to take ( chewable 2 tabs everyday ) they make me burp and feel queasy, but I must take to help my bones. On the bright side I am taking 5mg of Pred now and not doing too bad ! Also had my Covid booster and flu jab with no side affects.

Newly Diagnosed

I’ve started Adcal D3 and I’ve been given Alendronic Acid 70mg. It’s my left hip and lumber spine which is affected, -3•5 in hip, -3•1 in lumber spine. I’ve been told I have a fracture risk of 36%. I’m naturally concerned about the side effects of AA. I also have Asthma and Bronchiectasis.

Alendronic acid quandary

My doctor has put me on Alendronic acid tablets and 1200 mg calcium supplements(Adcal D3). After the first six days I had constipation and consequent haemorrhoids. I took the alendronic acid and a day later that resulted in headaches, muscle tightness in the legs and arms and fatigue.

Newly Diagnosed with PMR - and slightly bewildered!

The literature regarding Adcal-D3 mentions that this should not be taken within two hours of eating foods rich in, amongst other things, phytic acid (e.g. whole cereals).

Dizziness and Autoimmune Hepatitis

I have been started on a course of Prednisolone and Adcal-D3, my question is could these issues be due to the side effects of the meds of due to my AIH? Has anyone else suffered with above issues? T.I.A Heather.

Few quick questions if anyone would be kind enough to reply

Hi, Doc has prescribed Adcal-D3 tablets. twice daily. says on the packet each tablet contains 1500mg calcium carbonate (=600mg calcium) and 400 I.U. cholecalciferol (=10 mg vitamin D3). and yet ive noticed some people on here are taking far more than that. Is this the correct dose?

Omeprazole/Lansoprazole

I also take 2 x Adcal D3 a day. My question is, is there anything else I can take instead of Omeprazole and do I have to take anything to protect my stomach? I would be grateful for some advice please.

I should add that I do take Adcal D3 daily. Maybe this is enough?

Feeling really down

I have recently started treatment for recurring cancer.Rubrac a didn't work for me and I have already had Carbo/Taxol and Carbo/Caelyx. As my son and his family are visiting from New Zealand in July (prompted by my increasing ill health) I decided to try Anastrazole tablets rather than weekly Taxol,

It's back what supplements are ok?

Hi all, Budge up everyone, I need a place at the PMR table again. My last Pred was taken in December 2016 or so I thought. My osteo arthiritis flared a couple of weeks ago but after three days of Flarin it didn't calm down. I noticed after a while a few familiar shoulder twinges and booked a telephone

Meds are omeprazole at 7.30, pred with breakfast at 8-8.30, first Adcal at 11 ish, last at 9ish. AA still reluctantly, but in the weekly advisory way. Question
