3 month scan

Hello, my oncologist told me my first 3 month CT scan showed stable. Perhaps it is too early to show Improvement, and I am relieved and thankful that it didnt show worse, but I must admit I was hopeful for a better result. Would you be satisfied with stable at this stage. I have just completed 4 cycles of Ibrance. I take Letrozole, monthly imjection and Adcal. Thank you for any replies I receive

Hi. I completely understand how you’re feeling, as I too felt exactly the same way after my first post med scans with the same result as yours. I wanted there to be huge favorable results. What I have learned now is that the meds we take are not meant for tumor regression but rather for stability and quality of life. So, as other wise sisters have said before me, it looks like the meds are doing their job and you should indeed celebrate!

Hi,

Congratulations on your stable results! I know it can be disappointing to not see more improvement, but being stable is still good.

Take care,

Sophie

Stable is great on your first scan. It is hard to tell between healing lesions and active lesions so it may be improving but they can’t really see that. I had one node as well as the bone lesions so they could look at the node to see it getting smaller but my bones looked about the same. It wasn’t until the second scan that there was definite improvement. You are definitely moving in the right direction. Elaine

Stable is great news. That means no progression. I have had a CT scan and two MRI's since my initial diagnosis in February and all have been stable. My onc wants to see shrinkage of my liver tumor and so do I, but I will take stable. Labs have returned to normal. My motto is one day at a time.
