Am finally getting to go through my first frozen transfer after 3 cancelled cycles (one fresh two frozen). I'm currently taking a few supplements (have been for at least 9 -12 months) but is there any that I should stop taking the day of or after transfer? I assume most are fine but just wanted to triple check.
List below for ref (this is once a day):
x1 Omega 3 fish oil (1000mg)
x1 Zinc (25mg)
X1 Vit C (1000mg)
x1 Vit E (400 I.U)
x1 l-arginine (500mg)
x1 gentle Iron (20mg)
x1 Ubiquinol (200mg)
x1 megasorb Vit B-complex (contains 400g of Folic acid amongst other things)
x1 Vit D (1000 I.U)
x1 Selenium (200ug)
I've also started drinking 2-3 cups of raspberry leaf tea a day, I think you have to stop that after transfer don't you? Or it is just before labour lol.
Any advice would be great appreciated. I'll just be on progesterone in the TWW no estrogen as it's mostly natural cycle.
Thanks

hello, I’ve been told to just take pregnacare from the day of transfer. Can’t comment on the raspberry leaf tea as I don’t drink it. Wishing you all the best xx
Ahh okay, is that the original one or he 'before conception' one? Just looking at the ingredients and it is a lot of what I'm taking already but maybe a bit less so not sure whether to stop my current ones or not. No worries on the raspberry leaf tea. Thank you xx
you should be taking the original version, not the before conception one. You can check with your doctor if you’re not sure about the ones you’re already using. I just use pregnacare because it’s got everything you need in one pill. I would say though you should definitely stop ubiquinol xx
That makes sense. Tbh my clinic hasn't told me to take anything except folic acid. The vitamins I listed above are just ones I've done research on last year to see what helps. I guess if they really wanted me to take something they would have told me! xx
Hi. Sorry for jumping in but I just wanted to ask…is there a reason you shouldn’t take the before conception one? I would have taken this pre-ivf when trying naturally…is it harmful during the 2WW?
Did you guys not have discomfort when you took pregnacare? Read that so many people felt horrible on it so have avoided (hence why I take about 10 separate vitamins haha) x
Ah that would make sense! Now I'm wondering whether to take the original or original max just to give an extra boost of everything. Have you heard much about the max ones? Sorry for all the questions haha x
lol no worries! When I checked a while back it seemed that the only difference is that the max includes methyfolate which my current doctor says is an essential ingredient. Either is safe and recommended in pregnancy.
The most useful advice a nurse gave me during one of my transfers is that I should act like I’m pregnant, therefore to only take pregnancy safe vitamins and eat pregnancy safe foods etc from the day of transfer xx
That's really good advice! Oh interesting so the original max one is probs a good one to take? I might order that to take from the first day of transfer
nothing wrong with taking pre conception, it’s just that the original is meant for when you’re pregnant. If you read the packaging on the pre conception one it says you can continue taking it until you run out then switch to the original.
It’s mad how overactive our brains are when ttc…I was immediately thinking oh my god, was I doing something really stupid and taking the wrong supplements when we were trying naturally 🫣
Hello there 😊 the vitamins sound fine, please stop the raspberry leaf tea before transfer! It can cause uterine contractions and could cause embryo to fail to implant or miscarriage. I always drink it for the first week of my cycle. I had a successful IVF fresh transfer in 2021 which resulted in our beautiful little miricle. But I stopped drinking the tea just before egg collecting. Sending baby dust ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the response okay great will stop with the tea, thanks for the heads up. I only started it a little while ago to help with my lining as it was historically bad with the meds!
get just to add to what others have said on the ubiquinol are you just taking that now for egg quality of any potential future rounds or something else? I normally stop it after egg collection and don’t bother with it fir frozen since the embryo is made but maybe I’m missing something else it helps with 🤗💜 good luck got your transfer xx
I swear I read somewhere that it helps with implantation but I think you're right it's just really egg quality isn't it. I've taken my vits for today but will stop now. Thank you, it's my first one so am a little nervous and hopeful (but also realistic!) xx
it might do! I’ve never heard of that about implantation but all I’ve ever been told is vitamin D and folic acid by professionals (clinic and midwives etc) I just take the pregnacare as it has those and some other vitimins that are good for you even if not trying to conceive so why not was my approach. The time I was pregnant I just switched to the full pregnancy once the pre conception one’s ran out. Ahh there’s every chance it could work lovely ☺️ will be keeping an eye out for your updates xx
Yeah I'm actually thinking of switching to pregnacare max as I CBA to take all these vitamins when that does it in 2/3 simple pills haha. Thank you so much!! Also just saw your post today, good luck with your OTD tomorrow, I think your lines are progressing. Sending you all the positive vibes xx
