Hello. I am booked to have my frozen embryo transfer on Friday π¬ we only have 1 that made it to freeze so Iβm praying it will thaw well and work ππΌ
Any tips for after transfer? And have you all eaten anything in particular that you have found has worked or just keep healthy?
I am self employed beauty therapist..Iβm planning on having a chilled weekend but do have a few clients booked for the following week. Do you think I should cancel massages for the 2 week wait or do them but not anything to deep? And obviously lifting heavy massage bed/nail trolley etc?
Thank you π

Hi luv. Firstly, let me wish you all the best of luck for your ET! Secondly, here's what to expect during the procedure. The doctor or nurse doing the embryo transfer inserts a speculum into your vagina. A catheter is passed through the cervix, normally using ultrasound guidance. The embryo is passed down the tube into the womb. This is normally a pain-free procedure. usually no sedation is necessary. But you may experience a little discomfort because you need a full bladder if ultrasound is used. It is generally recommended that you lead a gentle lifestyle during the few days after embryo transfer. Alos you should eat like you are pregnant with a healthy balanced diet with good nutrition and take your pregnancy vitamins including folic acid. Have a little pineapple as it is high in selenium. But don't go overboard as it has a chemical in it that can cause uterine contractions. I also had 5 brazil nuts a day for the selenium around treatment. Some protein food with every meal. Plenty of fruit and veg. Hope everything will pass smooth & successfully for you Xx
I ate pineapple core and Brazil nuts for the first week. But I think my advice would mostly be just to keep yourself occupied. Immediately after the transfer, my hubby and i had our favourite meal (from an amazing Italian) then we went home and watched a laugh out loud comedy!
Make plans for the two weeks. Even if it's just seeing friends for coffee (decaf!). I chose to go back to work as I knew I'd just be worrying about it all otherwise.
Lots of luck and hope the two weeks go by quickly!
Just wanted to add. Found this on the internet some time ago. Thought this might be of some interest for you Below is a list of what happens after your transfer to your embryo after IVF, day by day.
After a 3 day transfer:
One - embryo continues to grow and develop, turning from a 6-8 cell embryo into a morula.
Two β the cells of the morula develop into a blastocyst.
Three - the blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell.
Four - the blastocyst begins to attach itself to the uterus.
Five - the blastocyst begins implantation.
Six - implantation continues
Seven - implantation is complete, the placenta and fetus have begun to develop.
Eight - hCG starts to enter the blood stream.
Nine β Ten - fetal development continues.
Eleven - levels of hCG are now high enough in your blood to detect a pregnancy
After a 5 day transfer:
One - the blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell.
Two - the blastocyst begins to attach itself to the uterus.
Three - the blastocyst begins implantation.
Four - implantation continues.
Five - implantation is complete, the placenta and fetus have begun to develop.
Six - hCG starts to enter the blood stream.
Seven β Eigh - hCG continues to be secreted.
Nine - levels of hCG are now high enough in your blood to detect a pregnancy
Your two week wait (2ww) starts the day of your transfer. If you have a 5 day transfer, you will likely get a positive pregnancy test 2 days earlier than with a 3 day transfer. This is because the 5 day embryo is more developed.
Iβve heard pineapple core so I must admit I did eat some but honestly I think itβs just luck of the drawer. Enjoy a nice few chilled days and take care. Wishing you the best of luck x
I remember reading somewhere to think happy thoughts during and after your transfer. Also, I don't think working will be such a problem, just make sure somebody else is doing the heavy lifting. Good luck ππ
It's really important to stay positive and strong. Just avoid being a negative environment. Eat food that is high in nutrients. Dont eat junk food and take drinks that have caffeine. Drink lots of water. Good luck to you. I hope things go well for you. Sending baby dust your way.
