Progesterone amount after fresh transfer

Hi all,

I'm taking 1200mg cyclogest. This was increased as I bled before OTD on a previous cycle. I've taken lubion as well before, but not in this cycle.

I had my progesterone tested on day 3 after egg collection as I was worried I might be taking too much or too little and wanted to adjust it after transfer.

The result has come back at 490 nanomols/ litre. Before I had the test I was told it needed to be at least above 30.

I've been told not to reduce the amount of cyclogest after I've started taking it as that could be detrimental and that there's no upper limit.

I think some research suggests too much can be bad though? Does anybody have any more details or references for that?

Any experiences of progesterone level at this amount for a fresh transfer and did you lower it? Has anybody else had it this high?

I'm having my transfer this afternoon and it would be good to take any thoughts to the clinic.

Hi, good luck with your transfer. I'm on 400mg x 3 a day of cyclogest and 1 lubion injection as I bled a week before otd last cycle (it was a fresh 3 day cycle).

My progesterone was over 500 nmol/L (UK). I had my bloods taken day before transfer (4 days after egg collection) however I know that I took lubion injection less than a couple of hours before the blood test which explains the high number. It can fluctuate throughout the day. Apparently your body will absorb however much it needs.

The Dr said was not concerned and I was advised to continue progesterone. I would love to have taken cyclogest twice a day instead of 3.

I would avoid checking Google because it can really kick start stress and anxiety, something you don't need. Glad that you are not low on progesterone.

I'm on 400mg x 2 (total 800mg) progesterone pessaries per day, plus a 25mg injection in the evening of Progiron, another progesterone, as well. I'm not sure what the equivalent would be in terms of tablets or all pessaries. Also taking estrogen, 6mg (2mg x 3). This was not a fresh transfer though. Currently 6w6d.

My successful fresh round (16mo boy) it was over 550nmol/L. For my successful FET (currently 13w) it was over 700nmol/L 1h after Lubion. Timing relative to meds matters-my prog was also measured just before my injection and it was 32nmol/L. Probably why it’s hard to have a max number xx
