Can anyone help me? I have had anxiety and depression for 5 yrs. I take 21/2mg of klonopin, 30mg of buspar, and 60 of cymbalta. I'm still sick but my husband says the only way to get better is to get off the drugs. I'm not sure that's the answer. What sort of doctor or expert can help me?

Wanting to get off drugs
I've only been taking .25 every morning of clonazepam. Which is the same as klonopin just generic. My husband and grown kids are telling me to stop taking it as well. Trouble is, I drive for a living, so I really need to stop taking it so I can go back to work. I was going to start today, but already had to give in. If you find any good advice.. pleased share.
I definitley will. but i'm not having any luck. i'm on21/2mg thats scary. I don't know what to do.
Hi Trees! I was tested positive by my fibro Specialist for the MTHFR gene. A like-vitamin was prescribed and I am still on 60mg of Cymbalta a day and...went to a hormone specialist recommended by 2 nurses AND I FEEL FANTASTIC! FIRST time in 31 years! I was 67% low in testosterone and only 6% in DHEA. Google SYMPTOMS LOW TESTOSTERONE IN WOMAN. You will be shocked on how many you have. No more depression, brain fog, muscle aches, no more muscle craps, allergies have gone. Like a miracle. It MUST be a Hormone Specialist, not your Dr.M.D.
Thank you I'm not sure we have one around here
I can't find a hormone specialist near me what is a hormone specialist
Is ahormone specialist an endocrinologist
Hi trees2357... i will advice you too go really really slow on tapering. Cymbalta is one heck of a drug to get off.
Most if not all anxiety an depression problems have Biochemical Root Causes of:
Undermethylation,
Folate Deficiency,
Copper Overload,
Pyrrole Disorder and Toxins.
Other causes of depression and other mental problems can be: Inflammation,
Candida Overgrowth,
MTHFR gene mutation
and vitamin deficiencies (zinc, l-theanine magnesium, vitamin-D, B-12, omegas)
And gut health off ratio of gut bacteria…
You can join this group... there is tapering sheets and lots lots of good advice on how to come more safely of.

I've been doing well on cymbalta 60 mg once a day and Klonopin 2mg 2xs a day. The cymbalta really worked once the dosage was raised. They usually stop working after a long-term period, but it's been over 6 months and truly a life saver emotionally. I hope that helps. Blessings your way 📿🕊
My husband hasn't been given a definitive diagnosis, but he has Parkinson's like symptoms which we think causes anxiety. He was put on klonopin for the jerking/shaking plus an antidepressant. It does help some, but it never goes away and neither does the anxiety. He has tried to cut back on both the at different times, but it made the shaking and the depression worse. I'm not sure about the Dr. unless you find a good neurologist to walk through this with you. I'm so sorry. I don't have the problem, but I do feel my husband's pain and frustration. Good luck to you and may God bless.
PS: Husband also takes meds for heart problems as well as uncontrolled diabetes.
