Vitamins in hashimoto thyroid

So what vitamins r u supposed to take?

Vitamin D, vitamin B, vitamin C, Iron, selenium, magnesium, zinc, iodine and so in....

I have been taking 50,000 iu Vitamins D once a week, with K2, iron with vitamin C or orange juice because I am anemic and very tired.

I have a pretty good diet and should be getting most nutrition from the food, at least what the doctors in USA say now.

Is there one or two vitamin all rolled in to one for hashimoto thyroid. Any ideas? Thanks

There are none that we are "supposed" to take other than those that are suggested after testing.

I responded to your test results in this thread:

Is your iron prescribed?

Suzi_ profile image
Suzi_ in reply toSeasideSusie

Yes, u can’t get 50,000 vitamin D over the counter in USA

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply toSuzi_

I didn't ask about Vit D, I asked whether your iron was prescribed.

Suzi_ profile image
Suzi_ in reply toSeasideSusie

No, dr asked me to take vitron c 65mcg otc, couldn’t take it, hard stools and heartburn, now taking 45 mg iron with orange juice.

I hope he's monitoring you because a couple of months ago when you posted your results you serum iron was 124 with a range of 45-160mcg so when taking iron tablets it's important to monitor regularly.

I would look at 5000 as to much at ones can possibly be a burden on the system

I take the vitamin k and d and I also give it to my mother and father otherwise they wouldn't buy

I think its 5000 I d and 150k

I don't remember exactly just taking it as I used to have teeth issues I took 2 and sometimes 3 in the beginning as I was in bed shape

Should this be in reply to Suzi_ (rather than me) who is saying she is taking 50,000iu?

Maybe I am so dyslexic night time

Well, this is her thread and she's discussing her vitamins, so you might want to alert her to your reply or she may not see your suggestion.

I hope the prescription is d3 and not D2 which is usually prescribed in USA!

Read the first sentence in my first reply directly beneath the opening post. Test to know what you may need:

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

May I chime in here...I have a friend who started drinking natural goats milk directly from the dairy and she has been in a remission state from Hoshimoto"s disease. There is something in the fresh straight from the farm goats milk that sustains some kind of a deficiency with those that have this disease. It sounds silly but I have since heard many success stories. The downfall of the milk if youre able to find it, it does have a high fat contact so adding an extra walk to keep weight manageable would be helpful :)

Simple support method...The vitamin D factor must play heavily in this idea.

Wishing you well...

Becca

Hi

If I don’t find fresh goats milk, may try evaporated or powder that is soya free.

I have seen people being cured from herpes and cellulitis by wasting the affected area with fresh goats milk

I think it was directly from.the goat 🙄 but I believe if its fresh and direct from the farm it should have its medicinal effect

Could you let us know what great knowledge you have?

Do you have any qualifications?

Have you heard from many people how this method didn't work for them amazingly? Or do you only get positive responses?

I have a diploma in Vega testing

Through out the years on a daily basis I am advising people and I am getting satisfactory results

Nothing works for everyone the same depending on many factors from genetics to the type of disease to the severity and as well the consistency and general lifestyle emotionally and physically of the individual

I only have heard positive results from the goat's milk

Is goats milk vitamins different than coconut milk?

Thanks, I walk daily, do tai chi and excercise. Interesting about goat milk, worth a try if I can find it! BTW, is your friend off meds now? Did she tell her Dr about goats milk?

get your GOP to test your bloods for vitamins and minerals quite often, because the thing is with Hashimoto's is that you absorb them less easily even if you have a good diet, and you might be short of anything. I am low on iron at the moment, and though I have been long term veggie, am eating a lot of chicken livers to get it higher. Really food is always better than taking pills. I may take some iron pills too.Julia WM

hi Suzi,

After 15 yrs of my “top” Uni prof. endocrinologist shutting down my thyroid to stop my immune system from attacking it (Hashimoto), I started researching and found a natural or functional doctor. I had changed to 10000 IUs Vit D daily on my own and got my vit d levels up to 35.

According to newest studies, anything under 60 is a deficite, despite the “normal range” being 20-100. I live in Austria. He subscribed 20,000 IUs daily for 5 weeks, got my Vit D up to 70 and then put me on 40,000 Weekly and 60,000 once per month. At the same time, I raised my selenium, which was almost non existent. I do take excellent supplement, nothing synthetic!!, including a B complex, C, CoQ10.

At the same time as these changes, I changed from synthetic hormone to Thyroid (bioidentical thyroid hormone from swine). I have been able to reduce 60-% of my I take. My thyroid is working again and feel great. I get things checked monthly, since I also have blood cancer. It was the cancer that got me changing my lifestyle, health, etc. I haven’t get this good in 15 years. I’m also on the autoimmune paleo diet, she’d of 20 slowly, and take a tablespoon of high quality salmon oil to reduce inflammation in my body. Organic food is also extremely important!!!

I am anemic since birth (no iron deficiency here, but hereditary). If you’re missing iron, best thing to do is eat black olives and liver. To get my RBCs up, I eat one small organic liver steak (must be- liver filters everything from the animal!!!) per week. Better than supplements.

There’s so much we can do to reset our system. Hope to have helped. Anag

Thanks. After I stopped eating meat for years, have started to eat meat again to bring my iron level up. Yesterday I cooked, chicken liver, must say I found it very hard to eat to the point of being nauseous, looking at the liver blood etc. I managed to eat some after spicing it up!

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply toSuzi_

Try eating pate ... I used to eat it twice a week to bring up my ferritin level.

Suzi_ profile image
Suzi_ in reply toLora7again

Liver pate?

Lora7again profile image
Lora7again in reply toSuzi_

Yes I like it with salad. I could not eat fried liver because it reminds me of school dinners Yuk!

Anag profile image
Anag in reply toSuzi_

I’m glad you’re eating meat. I am aware of the horrific meat industry situation. I buy from a small farmer, where the animal are happy and free of all toxins. It is the right thing to do. It’s not necessary to eat much meat, but once a week is good. Unfortunately, here in Austria, the population are the biggest meat eaters in Europe. Terrible. And unhealthy.

Chicken liver is not as bloody as beef and it tastes milder. I am greek and we just lightly sautéed the liver in a pan with olive oil and then add some lemon and oregano. The lemon cuts the taste and makes it easier to digest. If you cook it too much, the taste and smell get strong.

Cheers! Anag

Hi Drose, Suzi,

Keep your finger away from Pure vitamins. They were bought by Nestlé 2 years ago and what they now contain cannot be trusted. They are anything else but Pure. My daughter and I both got poisoning from the Pure B6. Numbness in the hands. One of my doctors told me she has stopped prescribing Pure. They have a sensational marketing, that is all. It used to be a great company. Not any more.

Drose9193 profile image
Drose9193 in reply toAnag

I will look in to it

B6 can couse numbness regardless the company depending how your body metabolize it

I would go for the p5p
