Tip about antihistamines

I looked it up and antihistamines (Zyrtec, Claritin, Benadryl, et al) can lead to weight gain. Both water retention and fat. How so fat? I can testify Claritin causes intense carb craving which I indulged enough to gain about 7-8 pounds in fairly short order.

Problem with antihistamines

I have glaucoma and the treatment causes me to have dry eyes that have resulted in damaged corneas. I am prescribed Carmellose 1% eye drops. I was also prescribed Fexofenadine tablets for my allergies but decided to stop taking them as watery eyes helped to reduce the dryness. However, given the pollen

Can Anti histamines affect eye pressure?

I’ve just googled this: Medications and Glaucoma:Over the counter medicines such as decongestants and antihistamines can dilate the pupil and lead to dangerously elevated eye pressure. Does anyone know whether they’re performance in tests might be affected by antihistamines, please?

Itching from anticoagulant

I read online that itching is a possible but quite rare side effect and that antihistamines help some people. But antihistamines are not an option for me personally. I’ve also had extensive blood tests that I have a ruled out other causes for body itch. Thanks in advance.

Leflunomide question

Antihistamines don’t help. Probiotics either. Has anyone come across this.? Wonder why it would start now.? I will say I am sleeping better with this med than with all others.

Glaucoma and other medications

This led me to looking at other medications that I take which include antihistamines and occasional cough/cold remedies. It seems these also shouldn’t be taken if you have glaucoma. However, when it mentions glaucoma it seems to refer to closed angle whereas (I think) I have open angle glaucoma.

Rashes with lymphoedema

I take antihistamines and they help to reduce the itchiness, but not the rash. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. MoJo :-)

Rash on neck comes and goes away. Steroid cream and antihistamines not working. Been happening for 3 months

On multiple antihistamines one in the morning and one at night and that doesn't seem to help. I take a daily multivitamin and fiber in the morning, but I don't seem to have the rash flair up during the week. Only weekends. I also do not shave on the weekends, ruling out razer burn .

OTC Antihistamines

Have any of you had to take antihistamines? I’ve had head, nasal and chest congestion for a week. No temperature that I’m aware of. My pharmacist suggested Claritin or Allegra. I’m being very cautious and was just wondering?

Itchy skin after MC

I have spoken to the doctor but antihistamines are doing nothing so will have to go back for bloods etc as they said that’s the next step. I have thought it could be the stress finally coming out in skin but interested to hear of similar stories xxx
