When to take Iron Supplements

I just bought a bottle of iron supplements since ferritin levels are low. I know iron reduces the absorption of levothyroxine, does it also interact with T3? Or any supplements in particular?

Also, if anyone can help, I'm trying to figure out how to space out my supplements in the day, suggestions are welcome, since I don't know which ones interact with which.

This is what I take:

- T3/T4 split in half, first dose at 8am, second dose at 3-4pm.

- Anti-Histamine in the evening (Telfast fexofenadine 120) although I have been avoiding taking it lately.

- Magnesium, Vit D, B12, B-complex, Zinc, Folate, vit B1, Quercetin 3x per day (includes vit C), Siberian Ginseng 2x per day, and now Iron (includes C)

- Probiotics

The only thing that I can't change too much is the dosing times of my T3/T4.

I take most of these with a meal, with the exception of the T3/T4, Magnesium, and vit D. Any help or suggestions is appreciated!

Thank you!

Dang,

Iron reduces the absorption of Levothyroxine, T3 and NDT which is why it should be taken 4 hours away from them. Check the iron bottle as some iron products say to take 2 hours away from food and other supplements and medication.

Vitamin D should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day to aid absorption.

For maximum absorption Levothyroxine should be taken with water 1 hour before, or 2 hours after, food and drink, 2 hours away from other medication and supplements, and 4 hours away from calcium, iron, vitamin D supplements, magnesium and oestrogen.
