What do you do about supplements when flying? I don't want to take full packs of everything but can't see airlines letting you take a tub with mixed supplements in. I'm thinking of magnesium in particular. I also have a large bottle of vitamin C plus selenium and zinc emulsion but unfortunately it's 450ml. I presume a spray bottle of iron or vitamin D plus K is ok. Do you put them in toileteries pack with shampoo etc? I suppose for selenium I can just eat Brazil nuts while I'm away and whatever food is high in zinc and vitamin C?

What to do about supplements when going abroad
I was worried when I went to America from uk a few months ago but no problems taking small amount s of ach in hand luggage. Also got this which is very handy
Have a lovely time . Its quite stressful making sure you have everything you need isn't it ,
I make sure I don’t run out or lose any by having a stock in my handbag , hand luggage and checked luggage. Never had any questions asked.
I wondered if you had to declare them. And thought they would have to test any that aren't in original packaging.
Where are you travelling too? I would check on their website. U.K. don’t mind what you take out and not too bothered what you bring back but other countries do.
I haven’t travelled to Japan however I have had no issues with my meds packed in a dossett box and I carry a copy of my prescription. I am diabetic and have sharps etc as well as fridge medication in appropriate packaging. All in hand luggage, scanned and no questions asked over a number of years on flights or cruises. Japan may vary but I’ve done Europe, USA, Africa and Thailand.
Only time I struggled was in 1970 when I went to USA as a student for a summer job and had all my ndt (12 weeks) an unmarked bottle and no prescription. They were confiscated. Very different times.
It was specifically supplements not in a package I was wondering about. I don't want to take a package of approximately 100 magnesium tablets.
I agree with SeasideSusie on this one. Why not take only what you need in the original container. I have had supplements included with prescription medications at times and not thought about them being more of a problem. My husband has always had some vits with him but again not had a problem. Sorry I missed you were talking specially about supplements only.
It is probably best to check on entry requirements in Japan to put your mind at rest.
How long are you going for? It doesn't hurt to have a supplement holiday now and again so if only going for one or two weeks I would take only those that I considered essential then you'd have room to keep them in the original packaging.
Years ago I took a load of supplements to Australia as we were on an extended holiday for 8 weeks. I was asked what they all were and what for, but they were all in the original packaging so there was no problem. I expect each country has their own rules.
