Prostate Cancer & Hormones - Insulin-like growth factor [IGF] axis.
Apologies for the length of this post. Some bits will be easy - skip the rest. Much has been written about PCa & insulin-like growth factor [IGF]. Although IGF is associated with PCa risk, studies are not unaminous. For the purpose of this post, I will not dwell on IGF as a causative risk factor,

Supplementing with Magnesium to ease depression
While this is not exactly a post regarding weight loss, I fear many of us suffer from depression and resulting comfort eating which contributes to our weight gains. Once we get some pounds on we become more depressed and the vicious cycle continues SO I hope this helps some of you :) I posted a comment

I'm very frustrated, any advice on results would be really great!!
Hi, I've had textbook hypothyroid symptoms for years now. My periods have completely stopped for the last 5 months despite being checked for hormonal/physical problems and apparently everything is normal. I think the problem could be exhaustion from an underactive thyroid. Does anyone have any advice

Does anyone take B1 supplement?
Hi all I've been watching The Thyroid Secret and they mention taking Thiamine (B1) supplement. I hope I've spelt that correct! I wondered if anyone takes it or people's thoughts on taking this supplement to help with fatigue? I've read so much on here about B12, Zinc, magnesium, iron, VitD, and selenium

Update on follow up hospital appt
So as many of you have responded to me in the past I thought I'd update you all on my return visit to the hospital to get my blood test results. Unfortunately I saw the same patronising nurse who kept me waiting an hour, then called me in to say "well all your results are within normal ranges", I asked

Help with when to take Iron, Vitamins and anti-depressants.
My Iron levels are rather low at the moment so I've been prescribed Ferrous Sulphate 200mg which I have to take 3 times a day. Can I take them all at the same time as fitting in 3 will be hard with my work and college schedule? I also need to fit it around taking Vitamin D, B12, B complex and 2 20,000mg

Does low ferritin cause low FT3?
Hi all I saw my Endo last week who told me my TSH was 0.02 and my FT3 was 4 and I can't remember what my FT4 was( waiting for my GP to give me results on a print out) but she was more concerned my ferritin has reduced to 24. I'm on 100mcg of Levo and 12.5 of T3 and take 300mg of Ferrous Gluconate

Hair & Eyebrows
My hair is fine, frizzy & damaged. My eyebrows are disappearing. I now use three different conditioners to try & stop the shower blocking up every time I wash my hair, then three products to make it brushable. I use eyebrow pencils, gels & powders to give me a structure to my face. I take 175mg of Levothyroxine
