Sixteen months ago I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency after I asked the GP for a test, having read the PA symptoms and realised that I had many of them. I have Type II diabetes and this was being treated with metformin amongst other medications. I read that metformin blocks the absorption of B12 in

Optimizing T3 and exercise
Not sure my question makes much sense but I am struggling to get optimal results, feel well and live the active life that gives me a sense of purpose. I'm working on adding T3 to my previously T4 only regime. I have been successful in raising D3 and B12, have good selenium and magnesium and am taking

Thyroid iodine and essential co factors
Just getting iodine is not sufficient you need the cofactors that make it work. In addition as was pointed out earlier fluoride, chlorine and other halides can interfere with the uptake of iodine. So best to start drinking water which filters out these and other toxic substances. below is Dr Dean's estimate

Iron deficiency and PV
Hi. I'm new to this Forum and am reassured to see that others are as confused as me about living with an MPN! My question relates to iron deficiency and PV. There seems to be a dearth of information out there! I was diagnosed with ET about four years ago. The diagnosis was revised to PV last Autumn

Update - different results via Private and NHS
Added this update to my original post then realised I'd be better off starting a new post....... Well following the great advice people on here gave me, I went back to my GP and asked to be retested. I got the earliest appointment and fasted and the results were almost identical to the original ones

When to take Iron Supplements
I just bought a bottle of iron supplements since ferritin levels are low. I know iron reduces the absorption of levothyroxine, does it also interact with T3? Or any supplements in particular? Also, if anyone can help, I'm trying to figure out how to space out my supplements in the day, suggestions are

Opinions on whether vitamins help Tinnitus
Hi all, This is my first post and I thought it was worth a bash-to see how other people cope with T. I developed it 3 years ago and went to my doctors who said basically I won't go away and I was stuck with it. At first I was very upset as it was extremely annoying however I have now got used to it

Thyroid/cortisol - any advice/help for self-treating appreciated
I am new to the site and wanted to get my blood/spot results back before posting. I have had all the symptoms of being hypothyroid for most of my adult life. Apart from two tests last year, one was hyperthyroid and then a month later hypothyroid, my tests are always "normal". I have a multinodular

Never lose hope!
EC today and after days of worrying it was absolutely fine. I think I was awake (not too sure, felt like the drugs were amnesic) but felt no pain during the procedure at all. Got 4 eggs after having 2 large follicles and 2 which we hoped would catch up and clearly they did. A few smaller ones but we

Sorry. I've a few questions.....
After my bloods yesterday I've a few questions sorry. Iron. I take 2x Tardyferon tablets a day. They are 80 each. I've now finally got my iron to a good level. Do I carry on taking the supplements or do I stop? I've no view really either way, I'm happy my iron levels are up and I want to keep them up

Hi I haven't posted in a while as I have been feeling okay however the last week or so, things have changed. I've been diagnosed Hypo for a few months now - started on a low dose of Levo (25mg). Recently this has been increased to 50mg (I know that it's a small dose). I have some questions - that

I am new here and am seeking some guidance on improving my Thyroid antibodies.
I have been reading the very helpful posts on this forum and while they have been helpful I am somewhat confused as to what would be right for me and the correct way to go about tackling these antibodies. My research has led me to believe I should cut out Gluten; then Dairy, Soy etc. (Paleo approach)

First appointment of finding out what's going on!
Had our first appointment today. For me it was kinda horrible. I can't stand smears or anything like that so the examination made me feel nauseous! I've got to do some bloods next Monday to check my progesterone levels (the doctor doesn't think my GP timed the first one right) and I've got to go and

An update on my husbands thyroid problem
We had an appointment today with the endocrinologist. They have taken bloods but in the mean time we have made our own discovery. Probaby should explain more that he has a benign tumour on his pituitary gland. For this he takes 125 levothyroxine and 20 hydrocortisone. The tumour was a side effect of

Very productive day.
Some morning's when I get the kids up I will sit about in my jammies but today I got dressed straight away as I was taking my mum swimming. After an hour at the pool came home got my house work done and dinner sorted and then back to the gym for my personal training session. We did a little cardio, but
