Sublinical Hypothyroidism?
I have just read the following:- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3746228/ Several reports suggest that zinc deficiency is a cause of subclinical hypothyroidism. We often read of complaints of hair loss with hypo.

Selenium ACE, Selenium With Zinc, etc?
Hi everyone. As selenium is often sold in combination with other nutrients, which would you recommend: selenium on its own; selenium with vitamins A, C and E; selenium with zinc; or selenium with ACE and zinc? Ideally I would regularly test for these nutrients but the cost is somewhat prohibitive! Cheers

Reducing my dosage
My doctor prescribed porcine whole thyroid, T4 andT3, a 162.5 (mg written on the bottle) tablet daily. I am experimenting by taking a tablet one day then a half tablet the following two days. The tablets cost NZ$128 per 100. Very expensive, but I will have to live with the expense if my experiment

Is increasing Levo dose a good idea?
Hi, I have been taking 50mcg of levothyroxine for about 8 weeks. I went back to my GP after a thryoid function blood test 2 weeks ago. I didn't ask for specific numbers but she told me my results were now normal. But I haven't been feeling any better - still exhausted all the time, unexplained pain

This is what a small bottle of soda does to your body
AFTER 10 MNUTES------ 10 teaspoonfuls of sugar will enter your body. This is 100% of your daily need. You won't vomit due to massive amounts of sugar because phosphoric acid holds back the taste. AFTER 20 MINUTES----- your blood sugar spikes and insulin is released. Your liver quickly responds and transforms

Humira and other Inflammatory drugs
Hello, I have been taking Humira for 12 years. I have been wanting to cut down or get off it, but Drs kept pushing me to stay on it. Blood results - advice please and some questions
Hello again, I've some blood results that I'd like some help on please. I had these done as I was feeling hyper on Levo. I don't think the results indicate being hyper though do they? I hope you can see the image. My symptoms were insomnia (total), agitated, irritable, night sweats, pulse in 90s.

Hello everyone; & thanks once again for encouragement, feedback, input, etc. after my first post last week. My blood results are back (if you remember, my dr suggested stopping meds after I saw her on Sunday & just confirming that everything we are treating is, in fact, accurate!) Yes, I am hypothyroid

Increase Dose (but not telling GP)
Hi I was diagnosed in 2012 with hypothyroidism and am now on 75mcg levothyroxine. Although all my labs show up as fine or in range (never told what they actually are), I still feel comfortable at analyzing tired and aches and my hypothyroid weight was 76Kg. Having dieted, exercised the weight never

Various symptoms.....Hypothyroidism?
Hi everyone, I've been feeling unwell for a few months (well, more like over 2 years), but symptoms have worsened in the past few months. These include: joint pain/soreness and stiffness (bones feel tender to touch, mainly upper back, breastbone, arms, shoulder blade) severe and worsening acid reflux

Should I avoid liquid iron supplement with iodine in?
I have very low ferritin and was prescribed ferrous sulphate by GP (200mg x 3 a day) but I wanted to try a liquid one from natural food sources - some seem to have a very low level of iron (such as 15mg!) there seems to be a good one called 'Virginian organic liquid iron' from Victoria Health https:/

Hi The above quote is from my endo to GP. Everyone was so helpful when I posted a few weeks ago re: my endo stopping my levothyroxine & ferrous sulphate for 8 weeks. It is now five and a half weeks and I am feeling pretty grim. Thanks to this forum, I have had new blood test results from MediCheck:

Magnesium levels and epsom salts
Hi, my mum's magnesium and sodium levels have been quite low the last few blood tests and she's taking magnesium supplements. However, I was wondering if anyone else has had low magnesium and what you did to help this. I read that bathing in epsom salts is a natural way for the body to soak up magnesium
