I have just read the following:-

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

Several reports suggest that zinc deficiency is a cause of subclinical hypothyroidism.

We often read of complaints of hair loss with hypo.

My hair is falling out badly since I started adding t3. It may be that I am not taking enough. I have to wait till my next blood test on 19th. I will start taking zinc anyway. Thanks for this.

I have a zinc, copper and vit c supplement. The zinc is zinc citrate 15mg.

I did have my zinc levels tested a while ago and I was well within range. But have had gut issues since then....

Very good. Thanks. I am vegetarian. I eat tahini regularly. Sesame seeds contain zinc. I guess if I take a supplement once a week or less it should be ok. I must say I've been put off supplements by reading about them. I've had my zinc for a while but never take it! Minefield!!! 😊

Was just googling around and found Japanese doctor suggesting that too much vitamin C suppresses zinc and manganese which both affect ft3 on cellular level.

Yeah.

I've been googling a lot during past few days and tried to understand the correlation of nutrients and vitamins, what is needed and how much and which work together.

The magic seems to be balance and harmony of vitamins and nutrients.

Oooh, I actually saw this the other day and meant to go back and read it lol. I wonder if anything to do with my hairloss. I've been so lazy recently with my variation in food while going six months with a tsh of 12 and undermedicated but now that I'm going back up again, I must sort this and start shopping properly again!

Maybe it's safer to up in diet instead of supplementing as mentions hard to test accurately? Apparently it's oysters and shell fish that are highest but these are the one group of foods I dislike. It's also in beef so more steak for me and sesame/pumpkin seeds and quinoa. I used to eat these regularly but not so much recently :-)

When I was first diagnosed I was told to take Zinc and selenium as they work together
