Zinc and Hairloss?
I have been losing my hair for over 3 years, had all of the tests you could possibly think of. Thyroid specialist doesn't think my thyroid is a problem. I have estrogen dominance with low progesterone, so using bioidentical progesterone now. I have had my recent blood tests for zinc back and they

Hi Just trying to figure out which tablet to take, and when. I'm having trouble sleeping (anxiety or Hyper swing - not sure). Do you have to be low in the above minerals or can you just take as a supplement? My plan is (so far): Before breakfast - Levo breakfast - B12 (under tongue) and Vit B complex

Could this be a thyroid issue?
Hi, back in March I was prepping for exams and my routine was to grab a coffee and hit the books. After about a week I was getting issues where I became extremely fatigued, muscle aches(thigh and shoulders particularly) a shortness of breath and restlessness when it came to bedtime. I googled my symptoms

Prostate cancer goes from being a chronic disease that can be controlled with ADT to a a fatal disease when it changes to CRPC. Is there a combination of supplements and drugs that can block the pathway the cancer uses to become CRPC. My bet is there is and so far I have come across 5 cases of PCa G

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Phosphorus
Nalakrats recently provided a mineral ratio for bone health [1]. It included "500mg of Phosphorus". I have always assumed that most get plenty of phosphorus from their diets. Wikipedia [2]: "The main food sources for phosphorus are the same as those containing protein, although proteins do not contain

Osteoporosis - My Experience.
After a dexascan in 2008 because of family with osteoporosis, I was diagnosed with osteopenia, given a supply of Calcium with vitamin D3 and told to come back in three years. Turned up at the doctors three yars later (2011) and was told that NICE had upped the time between scans to 5 years. I actually

Private doc visit went well
yesterday I travelled to the Biolab medical centre in London and saw Dr.B W and I have to say that having someone sit there and listen to my story over the years and agree with my feelings was a huge relief. I explained how I feel from waking up in the morning and the daily challenge we all face and

T3 & Adrenals
I have moved a small 5mcg of my 10mcg T3 dose to mid-late afternoon. How long a gap do I need to leave before or after taking so I can have my Zinc and Mag. Am assuming it's OK to have stuff like VitC and B12. Can't say I feel any better adding T3 so far although my reason for splitting my 10mcg solely

Confusing labwork. Central hypo?
Good morning, I am a 26 year old female, 5 feet and 160 lbs. I also have a congenital heart disease with severe mitral regurgitation. I've been overweight for most of my life- but have recently put on 20 lbs in 10 months. I've always eaten mindfully, avoiding sugar. I also have some of the classic hypo

Hello everyone - I am new to this forum and topic. My husband (63) and I (51) both have hypothyroidism, high heavy metals, pyrolluria, diffuse inflammation, histamine intolerance and more. We also both seem to have absorbtion problems because, since finding low levels of, amongst others, magnesium, B12

Tetracycline / doxycycline / minocycline
This post is prompted by Ed Miller's: "Ten days of the antibiotic clendamycin lowered my PSA for 3 months." I remembered seeing some PCa-tetracycline studies. (No PCa hits for "Clindamycin".) The matrix metalloproteinase [MMP] family comprise enzymes that break down extracellular matrix proteins.

How long do I keep supplementing?
I posted this a few days ago and would really appreciate some advice. I'm finally feeling really well, thanks largely to the forum and wonder how long I should continue supplementing. I have been reading Dr Brewers book 'The Essential Guide to Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements' and it looks like I'd

Vitamin D deficiency
Hi all! Full blood tests at end of post but starting with my questions! I am hypothyroid taking 100mcg of levothyroxine. As this thread has become really long I'm going to start a second about my other vitamins etc (will add link!) So I had a recent blood test which shows that my vitamin D is still deficient

IHerb
Just wanted to mention that I've found IHerb in the US to be very efficient and inexpensive for supplements. You get $5 off your first order, then loyalty credit for subsequent purchases. Thorne Zinc Picolinate and Thorne Selenometionine cost me £14.30 plus £2 postage from them, compared to £46 on Amazon
