Myeloproliferative Disorders: The problems of being unusual.
I was diagnosed with Polycythaemia Vera in December of last year. I think I will identify with many of those people who say that they have been unwell off and on for years one way and another along with a multitude of irritating but not constantly debilitating symptoms. It is so long ago that

Are mouth ulcers linked with endo?
I went to my GP yesterday as I have had continuous mouth ulcers for the past 6 months. They start as little blisters and turn into really nasty ulcers. At the moment I have 4. She sent me up the hospital for some blood tests but said that endo may affect immune system which could leave me run down and

I just wanted to ask has anyone else got Hughes S. and suddenly got lowered platelets? I,ve got this now, and the g.p. says they will just do odd blood tests to see how it goes. Well thats o.k. but I want to have some dental treatment, and as I,m on warfarin(20years), what should I do, will it right

Unsure what to think, late periods by approx 3 weeks and got mint taste in mouth
Hi, I could use some help please. For the last few weeks, I've been having a weird taste in my mouth, the only way I can describe it as if you have just used a mint mouthwash or toothpaste however it's there all the time. I was pretty regular with my periods, I came off the pill last September

Poor teeth..........
Hi, Just got back from the dentist where the hygenist was pleased with how my gums were considering how sore they had been. My dentist said that my teeth are ok but my gums were still not well, though the teeth are still "hanging in there". Does anyone else have similar problems? And if so, is it

June's Blog Topic
Our Topic of the Month for June is coping with Oral Thrush. Oral Thrush is a type of yeast infection in the mouth which has a higher prevalence in people with a suppressed immune system. Since lupus patients tend to take immunosuppressants they are more prone to develop it. We want your tips on how

What to do after illness???
So I did week 3 run 3 yesterday, it was fine. Started feeling ill towards the end of the day and woke up this morning feeling like death. Looked in my mouth and some nice big white lumps all over the tonsils, so off to the doctors and yes, i have tonsillitis. Fun! I guess that means I should rest etc
