Exercise post HA (four years ago)
I teach Qigong, an exercsie system similar to Tai Chi, and do a little
yoga
. According to my Fitbit, the exercsie I do is considered 'light'. I get into the fat burning range relatively easily but cardio is difficult for me to get into and maintain.

What do you use to cushion your knees?
So they get my thumbs up, and although one can do perfectly without, they are a bit of
yoga
luxury that I am already enjoying! So what do you use yo cushion your knees? Blanket? Nothing? Double up on the mat? Happy
yoga
everyone!

Tales from the IC : Row Row Row your Run (#6)
But as it’s actually cross training with my indoor rower, I’ll post my progress over at S&F and hope I can drag a few reluctant runners over there, where we are having a lot of fun working out,
yoga
-ing and cross-training including my explorations into the world of ”rowed-running”.

I don’t know though - I was definitely no quicker and my legs had had it towards the end, but I guess I’m not taking into account my very limited mileage of late, no
yoga
, and I’m at the end of a heavy cold. So Mrs, get a grip and be proud! 😅 Jeff and I will never be mates.

How to Increase BDNF
Yoga
and meditation are effective ways to manage stress and increase BDNF levels, according to a 2017 paper (Cahn et al.)[21]. And getting enough sleep is essential for a healthy brain and healthy BDNF levels[22]. But when you’re stressed, your need for sleep may be even higher[23]. 2.

Lower back pain and stiffness
I try to stretch every day with
yoga
, can't exercise now by walking and feel trapped into inactivity just when I feel the worst effects of PMR/GCA/ Pred. are on the wane. Has anyone else suffered similar ? Can this also be connected to PMR?

(See “Managing stress”) Exercises that have calming or meditative qualities, such as qi gong and
yoga
, also are beneficial and can easily be done at home. Video calls can help us stay connected to loved ones and reduce the stress of not being able to get together in person.

Rowing conundrums, seductive workouts and tech mashups
And then life intervened, as it does, and an extremely stressful 7 days at work got in the way of living, and I ended up managing to get on the rower only after that week, and similar goes for my daily
yoga
practice. Ohh nooo, am I finally falling off that wagon??

What happens when you run with the lads
Well, given all this free time and the sun was shining and I was already wearing most of my running kit (I only own one pair of leggings so wear them for
yoga
too) what's a girl to do?

Exercising with PA
As someone who used to run 2/3 times a week and teach/ practice
yoga
I’m finding incredibly frustrating mentally and physically. Just a weekend away last week with some long walks had me laid out for a full day with extreme fatigue again.

CATCH-UP CORNER...WEEK 2...Please do come and join us...Because on some days...
I am doing Red January, but I am NOT getting many runs in...loads of core strength work,,,
yoga
every day and walks here and there. But the last run I had was last Tuesday; by the sea, and I very nearly froze.
