Brain fog, other symptoms, dosage, B12 deficiency and testing?
I don't post very often as having had the radioiodine treatment for hyperthyroidism, I thought that my position was now permanent and I only needed the annual thyroid function tests my doctor (new this year) takes every year. I may still do. My recent health has though taken a nosedive with ridiculous

Low Carb really works for me
May 3 rd this year was my moment of truth when I knew I had to do something about two years of pred use weight gain. After two weeks of thinking I was low carb, the scale had not changed! Discouraged I sought the forum’s help and was alerted to the existence of carbs in many hidden places. It is true

Headache since starting Armour - should I stop taking it?
I have started taking 1 grain of Armour ndt after being on 100 mcg of Levothyroxine. Since starting 10 days ago I have had a headache every day. I have taken Armour before with no headaches that I can remember but changed to Naturethroid when Armour became too expensive. When that was found to be sub-potent

Blood tests for Thyroid and Food Intolerances?
1/ My question: having blood tests done privately, and food intolerance tests privately, will the knowledge of the results be beneficial to know, and are the results reliable? 2/ My question: blood taken from the finger tips by myself for the analysis, are they as reliable as analysis using blood from

Good news - I am done with PMR!
I want to share some good news... finally my PMR has left me after more than 6 years (December 2016 it began). I had been tapering for the last 6 months but never managed to get below 1mg and still had flares needing to take up to 5mg. I had been very stressed being in an unhappy and emotionally abusive

Full Cream Milk
Oh I love it! I have decided and ordered a tin of it to add to my low fat diet in which I have recently lost 2 lbs. My decision is not based on emotions. In fact one of our Holy Imams (a.s) advised a man to drink 'milk' for weakness which I am experiencing while dieting and exercising and once in a week

What next - pre diabetes!!!???
Any advice? I’m 71 9st 12 lbs, exercise every day and can run 5k and now have been told I have pre diabetes!!! My diet is pretty good low carb generally not much bread or root veg, and no cakes or sweet stuff, alcohol-14 -16 units a week. So what next I ask? You can consider the above a bit rhetorical

Medical Issues & RLS/PLMD
Hi all. I have recently been diagnosed with Celiac Disease (CD) and now wonder how much of my RLS/PLMD could be the result of an iron and/or other nutritional deficiency. My ferritin level is 160 so, a gluten-free diet may not help me re: RLS but, thought others should know that there is an established

BEWARE! RED LIGHT experiment FAILED! Don't get RIPPED OFF!
We all know that we are struggling to find something... ANYTHING... to relieve our symptoms... let alone cure or reverse them. I do think that "laboratory-style" red light therapy shows promise. But there are many "pseudo/fakle" red light therapy systems being sold for up to THOUSANDS of dollars that

Has anyone cracked the code? How to loose weight??
Still trying to get things under control.. But how DO we loose weight as Hypothyroid? - Should we stay away from certain types of exercise? (Cardio, weights, HIIT, walking, etc?) - Many said Keto may not be great… is low carb ok? On Keto I would stay within 30-40g of carbs a day which is more low carb

Gastritis and Iron tablets
Following a recent blood test where the following levels were reported-iron 10 umol; ferritin 18ugl; tsr 15.3%; my GP wasn’t keen on giving me iron tablets said they could be “nasty” but didn’t explain the impact they could have on my atrophic gastritis !I am struggling to keep pain free from the latter

Low carb, high fat diet
When I was first diagnosed I decided I wanted to watch my weight. I had put on weight over the years and was 12 stone. I had read about reducing carbohydrates. A few months after my PMR diagnosis I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I read all I could and changed my diet to a low carb, high fat diet

PEMF mat therapy update
So I finished my pemf mat therapy and here is what I experienced. While on the mat my tremors would stop on average 10 minutes into a session. The sessions would last 30 minutes to 1 hour. I started at the lowest setting and worked my way up. I used the unit daily. I also noticed that my tremors would
