a Tale of Two Friends
Last weekend I ran into an old friend. He told me he had prostate cancer. I asked his Gleason score and he didnāt know. I told him I was starting Cyberknife on Tuesday. He told me he was having surgery the same day. I asked why he was opting for surgery and he told me that it was best to be rid of

Xtandi (enzalutimide) SEs Part 2
Since I've increased my Xtandi from 80 mg to 160 mg, I am now experiencing a bad case of the jimmy legs (restless legs) at night. I take my Xtandi around 8 pm. I still work full time and I've read that taking it at night helps avoid the fatigue during the day. So far that seems to be the case with

Nearly 14 years on - time has flown.
On Friday 16th April 2010 I joined the Pernicious Anaemia Society and posted the following: āI was diagnosed with PA back in 1972 consequent upon having had surgery for a peptic ulcer in April 1959 at the tender age of 17. In those days I was not many years from having to be put on a diet of raw liver

Feeling low. Wind out of my sails
Update - Saw doc this morning and I was hoping that the Enhertu would be working after the 4th cycle, but markers went up +289. Now I am at 2130 (15.3) and the general tumor markers are up almost 4 pts to 56. He said I could do another round of Enhertu and I just said, look, just over a year now and

best treatment after Xeloda?
I was diagnosed with MBC in Feb 2022 with bone mets. I am HER2 low ER positive. I have been on kisquali, Ibrance, Faslodex, and lastly 4 rounds of Xeloda. Nothing seems to stop my progression, Kisquali sent my liver enzymes sky high. Ibrance/Faslodex progression was slow and markers rose. Xeloda

Death of Dr. Joseph Chandy
Very sad news of the death of Dr. Chandy, who was a hero for his B12 deficient patients . He wrote , with Hugo Minney , a great book āVitamin B12 deficiency in clinical practiceā. ( Doctor , you gave me my life back) He stood up to the medical authorities in order to treat his B12 deficient patients

How effective is fenofibrate for itch?
My doctor suggested a few different drugs, like rifampricin, naltrexone, and fenofibrate for my itch. He prescribed fenofibrate as he thinks it works best. Does anyone here take it and if so, has it helped? I'm worried about the warnings it comes with about severe liver damage.

How long for ANA/ENA results?
I've had quite a few symptoms of what my GP suspects might be a CTD, spanning back about 10 years but lots more cropping up more recently. She's requested (I think) an ANA test and I understand from googling that if the ANA is positive it then gets sent for ENA testing as well? I'm not sure what the
