Mixed news!

Good morning everyone.

Following the emergency removal of my ovarian tumour and then my full hysterectomy, the biopsies showed some pre-cancerous cells in the cervix.

Waited 4 months for a CT scan, the results are no evidence of disease from tumour, or cervix area, and lung embolism appears to have resolved too.

Next is a smear of my vaginal cavity (was sewn up after cervix removed) in December to double check re: the pre cancerous cells.

This is all good news! But I’m not too excited yet as I’ve also had to be recalled from a mammogram, and had a biopsy on Monday on a cyst in my left breast, as they couldn’t tell if it was a benign one or not! I should get results next Monday.

(plus I won’t settle until after the smear!) I know there can be links between ovary and breast and I’m hoping there isn’t on this occasion!

So I’m trying to be positive about Monday, but after the last year of one thing after another, I’m finding it hard to do so!

But I wanted to also share the good news re: the CT, as I know we all find comfort in good news…

With love,

Ems

Hi Ems, you are certainly getting the full works aren’t you?!

It must feel like one thing after another but your results so far seem to be all very positive, so I hope this next lot will be equally good xx

Great news! I had the same issue with my breast mammogram and was worried sick that I had that to deal with that as well as HGSOC but biopsy showed they were harmless. Had the cysts burst with an ultrasound guided needle. All painless and quick.

Hope you get the same result 🤞xx

Hello Ems

Such good news about your CT scan and thank you for sharing that! Sometimes when we are surrounded with such uncertainty - to have such a positive thing to focus on is really important. Just keep focussing on 'clear scan' - its almost like a life raft as you ride the waves!. Yes, I know - easier said than done! Hugs are sent your way for more good news.

Great news on the CT scan! Can understand the anxiousness; it seems to be our consistent (🙄) companion. Hope all this is behind you soon.
