Xtandi (enzalutimide) SEs Part 2

Since I've increased my Xtandi from 80 mg to 160 mg, I am now experiencing a bad case of the jimmy legs (restless legs) at night. I take my Xtandi around 8 pm. I still work full time and I've read that taking it at night helps avoid the fatigue during the day. So far that seems to be the case with me.

I've tried taking Melatonin but that also gives me the jimmy legs, so I'm starting to consider take cannabis gummies as a sleep aid. Any suggestions?

I take 15mg of the indica strain every night an hour before bed. Works like a charm

How about waking up?...I think you've stated in other posts, you live on the West coast..so it's pretty early out there, any problems getting the day started?

No, get up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 4AM every day. Had to experiment with dose to get just right

Is the 15 mg Indica THC or CBD?

Asking for a friend 😆

I do cannabis at night right before bed , doesn't work as well as sequel I was taking but the possible side effects from that can be bad. Works pretty good!

In what form? What's sequel?

Seroquel, it's for depression I think. Made me sleep like a baby. When I saw that commercial on TV about uncontrollable muscle movements could be a side effect of these types of drugs, and the drug they are offering to control those side effects.......... You would never guess, but it's listed possible side effects were uncontrollable muscle movements. Can't make that stuff up!!! Unbelievable!!!!! I use a dry herb vape for the cannabis. Much better than smoking. In my opinion.

With Xtandi I don't know but with chemo restless leg is first treated with Claritin.

That didnt work for me nor my beloved cannabis. However Hydrocodone worked well.

Without any pain it might be hard to get a prescription for Hydrocodone.

Seems generally you just need to get put to sleep so the Restless legs are not an issue. Not noticed or the nerves involved are calmed.

So Indica, or other sleep aides' might do the trick.

You're the second person who recommended Indica. Thanks.

During my overnight sleep study for sleep Apnoea in a hospital when I was hooked up with the sleep study monitoring machine they also monitored my leg movements as it could also wake you up and negatively interfere with the sleep quality.

I remember that indica was great eaten in biscuits. Its effect was lighter but prolonged. Took more than one hour to start feeling it. It could be better than smoking it for the purpose of sleeping.

My evening ritual is a bud of Indica strain flower about 6 pm then a 15 mg indica gummy. I sleep like a baby and wake up totally rested. Been my go to for the past 10 years.

THC also makes my Lupron SE tolerable.

I had restless legs. I see a homeopath who apart from giving me tablets to help with my cancer she gives me tablets to reduce or remove my side effects as and when they appear. She was successful with the restless issue

Wow, I thought it was just me. I have RLS big time on Xtandi! I'd swear it extends to my back sometimes too as there are times I can't simply lay down. Primary care doc gave me ambien for sleep when these symptoms flare up.

10-25mg of Indica gummie, or a bowl or 2 does the trick, try it after dinner with some Pink Floyd…just float down stream and enjoy the ride.

250 to 400 mg of magnesium one-half hour before bed start at 250mg, can go to 400mg but the higher the dose the looser the bowels.. Works for me or I run like a dog in his sleep.

I experienced bad neuropathy, restless legs, cold feet, insomnia. Purchased a heating pad I place under my sheet for my feet this helped. I then purchased a Grounding Pad that I sleep on and the results are amazing. No pain or restlessness, fall asleep faster and sleep better. This is backed up by my watch App which shows breath rates, heart rates etc. Although the grounding pad sounds quack it has been a game changer, and was recommended by a neurologist after an EMG. You can get both for less than $100us.

Once I began Enzalutamide at 160 mg I had the most amazing energy, felt brilliant. Then seven weeks in and on Christmas Day morning my blood pressure sky rocketed. I took a while to control this but now after dropping my Enzalutamide to 120mg and a blood pressure pill for control I am ready to get back on my bicycle and whizz up some miles. So my friend, be aware of this and be prepared, just incase that is. CBD gummies are tip top. Good luck, we all need luck. Stay sane 🤪

Now this can't possibly work, except it does for many people.

It is insane, literally it does not make sense, that putting a bar of any soap (unwrapped) in the bottom of your bed under the bottom sheet would do anything.

Worked for mom, works for me, is cheap and easy and you can do it tonight! BTW I was on Xtandi for 6 years.

yea, I’ve been on Xtandi - Lupron for 60+ months, and I get that irritating restless - squirmy leg thing fairly frequently. It’s very unpleasant for me. For me, I find that Xanax works very well to make it disappear. Alternatively, this works better but leaves you modesty stoned. I eat half a 25mg of hemp derived HHC ( hexahydrocannabinol ) gummy…. Takes about an hour but lasts a long time. Always check with your medical care team before starting anything new, meds wise.

Hemp derived cannabinoid gummies are federally legal , unregulated, nation wide in the USA. A few states have regs about them, check locally first.

❤️❤️❤️

Thanks Kaliber. I have an appt next Friday with the Medical MJ doctor and then I can get my Medical MJ card. I'm going to ask a bunch of questions regarding what's available in Pennsylvania. I found that alot of the drops contain melatonin, which also gives me the jimmy legs.
