No diagnosis yet but AMA+. Any advice?
You are a wonderful group of caring people. I am new here and have learned a lot and found some peace reading your forum. I need help finding proper medical care for myself but don't know where to turn. I am hoping someone can give me ideas on how to proceed. I am a 67 year-old female in the USA.

Paxlovid
has anyone been prescribed this or taken it with having PBC and being on Urso? It doesn’t look like it conflicts with URSO but I also wonder if it’s safe with liver disease. My PCP gave me a prescription in case it was needed on an upcoming trip but I have not asked my lover doctor. Anyone taken it

Benefit of Urso
Hi All, I saw this in my news feed and thought I’d share: https://www.cam.ac.uk/stories/UDCA-COVID19 After years of being told to shield and then be extra careful it’s good to see some light at the end of the tunnel. As I’m already on Urso for PBC I got rather excited. I’m not going to throw a Christmas

Covid MRNA vaccine and PBC
I've had PBC since diagnosis 2008. Treatment with URSO and bezafibrate keeps things reasonably stable. I believe in vaccines so have taken 4 Covid shots up to April 22.Soon after April dose I developed very bad pains in hips, thighs, shoulders and upper arms. To cut a long story short, this turned out

Liver test results normalised with gut microbiome approach
I saw the liver specialist on Thursday and my liver test results have completely normalised. I did a trial with a naturopath with gut micriobiome testing, supplementation and dietary change based on that testing and a follow-up micriobiome test 3 months later. My intestinal permeability has healed and

Urso/UDCA and Omeprazole
Hi, I was just given Omeprazole to take once daily (mornings) - is it ok to take it at the same time as my Urso, or does there need to be a gap?

Swelling, muscle aches and joint pain
I was diagnosed earlier this month. Sine I've been on the medication it seems like I'm zooming down hill. I'm severely swollen to the point of hurting, my joints hurt, an muscles are painfully tight. I'm having difficulty taking care of myself all of a sudden. I'm on Urso 500 twice daily. (But he says

Ocaliva
Hi all, I’ve been taking Urso for years and my doctor has decided it’s time to add Ocaliva. Does anyone currently take Ocaliva in addition to Urso? Has it helped?

Obeticholic acid
Hi everyone I was diagnosed around 5 years ago. Unfortunately I am not fully responding to first line treatment Urso. The Dr's are suggesting that I should start on Obeticholic Acid. I'm a little apprehensive due to the side effects listed. Is there anyone here who could advise please? Tia 😊

High Alkaline Phosphatase
I’m worried.. I’ve been on Urso for 3 months, my ALT and AST came back normal but my Alkaline Phosphatase increased from 220 to 240….really confusing. Any advice or information would be appreciated.

Lfts back up
I posted this in Pbc UK. I though I'd do the same here. Well just a few months ago my Alp was up. I had broke my finger and we thought that caused it. That was the beginning of June. Now it's Oct. and my finger is healed and my last two blood tests all of it's high. My Alp is high and so is my Ast

PBC/AIH1 Positive
Just as I was wrapping my head around my April PBC diagnosis and taking Urso (which does seem to me improving my liver enzyme levels) a liver biopsy also confirmed that I am also positive for autoimmune hepatitis type 1 (AIH1). I know PBC and other autoimmune conditions tend to run in packs. Does anyone

Help with my conditions
I have had PBC for 8 years. I am on Urso but have recently had a Fibroscan which has said I have advanced fibrosis. I asked the nurse who rang me what this means. She didn't give me much of an answer other than lose weight and do exercise. I feel like I see the specialist every 6 month's but don't know
