Itch
I have recently moved to Spain and my itching has completely disappeared. This is so weird as it has been really bad for the past 12 months whilst living in the UK. Just hoping I stay as well as I feel now. I have been on urso for 6 months. Just wonder why?

What classifies someone as a responder vs a non responder to UDCA medication?
Is a responder someone who takes URSO for a specific amount of time and drops the ALP level within normal range? Is a non responder someone who's ALP levels never go down or stay consistent? What about partial responders? Those who ALP levels go down at first but go up in the course a few time. Flucuating

ALP levels decreased then increased while on URSO 250 3x a day
Hi All, I am very concerned about a recent blood test showing my ALP levels elevating from 119 in February 2019 to 155 in July 2019. Perviously before taking Urso, my ALP levels were extremely high in the 280to 290 level, then starting Urso in 2018, it lowered my ALP levels to 129 then down to the 119

Stopping Urso on trial
Morning everyone, hope your day is kind to you all. I’ve been on Urso since Feb when I was diagnosed with PBC. I’ve had issues and this is when the itching started and abdominal pain. After my visit last week to see GI consultant, she decided that I should have a 2 week break. If I improve, then Urso

Itching with Urso
I have PBC which has been controlled by Urso for several years but recently my scalp has started itching incredibly. Can this be a reaction to Urso?

Newly Diagnosed and Scared
I am a 38 year old wife and mother of 3 that has been recently diagnosed with PBC after abnormal LFT's over the course of 1.5 years. In Nov.2017 ALP 218/ALT 64/AST 40. May 2019 ALP 338/ALT 104/AST 75. Hepatologist performed a Fibroscan - result was 5.2. I was told we caught this quite early and

Alk phos went up.
Hello everyone, I was diagnosed almost.a year ago after I gave birth to my daughter. My alk phos was around 348. I started urso last July. I have no scarring. My numbers came down to 151. However. I went to the doctor and it went up to 187. I'm worried and frankly I always been stressed since being

Latest Labs since off OCA
Hi PBC family, I'm not posting on here as much as I used to be. I check in and read posts twice a week. ❤ So, my hep put me on OCA. I was on it for 2 months. My AlkP "went up." He said it should have brought it down or even normalized it. It didn't. I also experienced quite a bit more fatigue during

Bladder tumour
Just wondering if anyone else has had a bladder tumour removed? Waiting for pathology but is cancerous to some extent. My system is all over the place and I am catheterised. Bouts of nausea and sweats. Didn't take my URSO last night as nothing in my stomach and knew it would make things worse. Anyone

Urso side effects.
I’ve been on Urso for two months now. For the last couple of weeks my eyes have been very sore and I have sinus headache. This isn’t really anything new as I do have chronic sinus issues but am wondering if the Urso has aggravated it. I won’t be seeing my consultant until November after a fibroscan

Newly diagnosed.
Just recently been diagnosed with PBC although showing no physical symptoms apart from fatigue. LFTS were highly elevated with an ALP of 842. Fibroscan reading showed 39.5 which came as a huge shock especially after infrasound came back normal. Iv now started on Cholurso which I believe is the cheaper

What drugs are people on if they aren’t an Urso responder and are they helping at all?

Everest base camp with pbc
Hi everyone, Im in the very early stages of pbc and take urso. I am fortunate that i do not suffer ill health and i am super fit, as long as i have a very low fat diet. I am hiking to Everest base camp in March for charity and have been given the go ahead by my consultant. My question is, what insurence

Endoscopy
Hi, I am very recently diagnosed, am having an endoscopy to get a baseline for possible varices. Does any one know what happens if they DO find varices? A rant too, 🤣 for decades any routine blood tests has been queried but never followed up. Only now after breast cancer and lots of blood tests

Dreaded Itch!
Hi, I was diagnosed with PBC 4 years ago and am a non-responder to Urso. I have taken Cholestryamine light, Gabapentin, Sertraline, Rifampicin, Fenofibrate and Naltrexone for my unbearable itching, with no relief. I recently have taken part and finished a trial at QEH Birmingham for pruritus, called

10 day difference in labs before and after pain medication
I went by ambulance to the ER for severe muscle spasms on left side of my back. They drew blood before giving me any medication. While waiting for results I was given an i.v. of morphine and some sort of muscle relaxer. All labs came back in normal range so I was released with instructions to take Naproxen
