I am now able to tolerate antibiotics again after my nerves healed
I even reacted the same ways to certain supplements as well, such as
Uva
Ursi
, and supplements containing a lot of glycerol (this may be due to changes in osmolality). All would cause nerve pains. Anyway, by late summer 2023, I had to take Trimethoprim due to kidney pains from the infection.

I figured out why I couldn't tolerate antibiotics (caused severe burning) after developing SFN from B12 Deficiency
TL;DR I was able to succesfully use
Uva
Ursi
and Antibiotics by combing them with an antihistamine (
Uva
Ursi
and the antibiotics previously caused severe burning sensation of my skin.)

Couldn't agree more..
I can't even begin to imagine how this decision to no longer offer Ocaliva to European patients will impact their lives. Many patients take this because of not being able to tolerate Urso or being a partial responder to it. Dr. Gish is truly a defender of what he knows is best for the PBC community

Fibroscan
I had my first fibroscan last week. No disease progression in 4 years. Diagnosed in 2019ish. Im 62 years old. 😁 Stage 1. My ALP did rise though, so my Dr. upped my Urso. I take two, 250 pills in the am, and two in the evening. I also added Vitamin D, B and an Omega 3 pill. I do have Osteoporosis.

URSO QUESTION
If you are fortunate enough to be an URSO RESPONDER, and all liver enzyme tests have returned to normal, does that mean URSO is working to HALT the progression of PBC or has it just slowed down the progression? In other words, can your PBC worsen even though your LFT’s indicate there is no more damage

GGT Marker
When i was first diagnosed with PBC, my GGT was very elevated, at 570 U/L . Would this go back to normal with URSO? They did not test for it last time, but next bloods it is Marked to be tested

Please read...
I hope you all take the time to read Ipsen Pharmaceutical's announcements concerning PBC drugs.. Just google ' Ipsen Pharmaceutical announcement' ........ keeping the use of placebos in the clinical trials just wanted valuable time from those who are not responders to other drugs - Urso and OCA.'

Important from The PBC Foundation....

Second line therapy

This a term used In PBC a patient does not respond to Urso - usually within a year's time from the start of dosing. A different drug of choice is needed.
The only approved second line treatment is the use of Ovaliva (obeticholic acid

Ocaliva and side effects
Hello everyone! I recently started taking ocaliva. I don't know if they help, I'm due to go and have some blood tests done. Pros...the sharp pain I used to occasionally have in the liver area is gone. Cons. The itchy skin drives me insane, can't sleep, I'm always tired and to add insult to injury some

Urso and gallstones
A recent ultrasound revealed possible gallstone blocking a bile duct. An MRCP was recommended and carried out a couple of weeks ago although more like an MRI as no contrast was administered. I now have an appointment in June but I'm not sure what for. My concern is from reading the Urso leaflet it

Don't Underestimate Yourself
I have for the last 7+ years I have had the privilege of facilitating a support group for those who have been diagnosed with PBC. I can honestly say that there is not a more brave or determined group of men and women. None of us know what the future holds once we're diagnosed. Will the Urso work? Will
