Should I apply for PIP?
Hi, I finally retired from work in July and although I no longer have the stress of having to deal with stress , I'm still no better. Aching limbs and muscles, lethargy so bad that some days my brain refuses to connect with my mouth! Anyway, plenty of you will have all this and more. Urso is working

Latest AMA results
Latest blood work from March 1st results showed AMA ^^1:160^^ (normal is 1:20), everything else is within normal range. I have been on URSO for approx 2 years. Should the AMA be this high? No response from GP or liver specialist so far.

Just need to vent
I usually don't vent but this is aggravating. I have stage 4 pbc have for the past 2 years. I don't sleep more than 4 hours at a time. I stay nauseated all the time. My eyes have started turning yellow and my skin is now gray. Unfortunately I'm not a good responder to urso. I stay tired all the time.

Itching
The major effect my MPN has on me beside fatigue is itching. I have itched since before first diagnosis in 1994. Have tried so many drugs . Numerous anti-histamines, cimetidine, paroxetine, steroids ,thalidomide, interferon ( made it worse). The only thing that helped was very large doses of PUVA but

Normal ALP at last! (urso+bezafibrate)
Male, 55 years, diagnosed 20 month ago, stage 3 PBC according to liver biopsy. First year URSO only, and bilirubin etc was back to normal and itching disappeared directly. However, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) was still way high. Then USRO+budesonide was tested, no difference. Last 3 month with URSO

My Experience so far with PBC
Hello Everyone, I just joined yesterday and I thank those that liked and responded to my post. I've read a few posts from some of you and the responses and although I'm new to this site, I'd just like to tell you of my experience with this disease, so far. Diagnosed in October 2012 through elevated

Scared & Confused
I am new to PBC, I have just recently been diagnosed so I do not know all the ins and outs yet. I did not know that PBC can cause forgetfulness. Is this accurate? Because that would explain a lot! I was diagnosed by my Gastro Dr. about a year ago. Who I think is AMAZING by the way, he sent me to a Hepatologist

Finally seen Gastro
I went to gastro this week and was given a higher dose of urso. My ALP has been rising instead of lowering or leveling. She also gave me a higher dose of hydroxyzine for the itching. I have been on vit D for a month now. I still have constant muscle and joint pain. Does anyone know how long it takes

Need input
Went to drs today. Found out my AMA was 62. Still not issued urso. Doubled my Neurontin for FM. Ordered oxygen tanks for COPD. I am no longer able to do my job so she did say that she would sign the disability forms. MRI of liver was normal. Lymph nodes are swelling at an alarming rate and progressively

PBC
Hi, I've been diagnosed in 2014, stage 2 Pbc, AMA and ANA positive and fatty liver. Been on Urso since then and I have been going very well, but out of no where, I've had a set back where I am extremely tired, pain in bones, itching flared up again. Does it work that way that you have like set backs

First Post and a Thank You
First off, I'd like to thank each of you for your posts. I have learned more from reading your stories, questions, and responses than all other sources combined. You have helped me in knowing what to ask my doctors, and how to answer questions from family and friends. With all of that in mind, I'd

Hungry at last
I have started taking Urso three weeks ago..at present on 500mg a day but going up to 750 g next week..which I think is too much for my small weight of 49 kilos however the urso has made me hungry for the first time in ages so that is a big plus for me. Anyone else experienced this?

Urso- how long does it take to work?
I've had abnormal LFT's that were discovered while I was pregnant. After delivery of my baby I thought they would go back to normal but they have continued to increase. Doctors have still to give me a firm diagnosis but say it could be PBC. I've been on urso for almost a month and LFTs havnt changed
