Vagus nerve stimulation and Atrial Fibrillation
I’m quite sure that the research that is mentioned in a recent paper (2022), with the title ‘Vagus nerve stimulation and Atrial Fibrillation: revealing the paradox’ will lead to the most promising, non-invasive treatment for AF ever. It’s a must-read for everyone with a heart out of sync. Talk about

Pain that worsens upon movement? And triggers longer episodes of pelvic pain if I’ve been lifting or especially walking anywhere.
So, just over 3 years ago, I had a tubo-ovarian abscess, which I was in hospital for around a week with… It’s likely that this may have been caused by the coil itself and a consequent infection. Managed conservatively at the time but after repeated infections and severe pain, I was finally offered surgery

Acupuncture for bladder issues
We have been trying everything over the past 7 years for our son who has dysfunctional voiding. Currently Solifenicin and TENS from the consultant. We asked if we could try acupuncture if TENS has no impact. Has anyone been down this route - or anything else not NHS standard? We feel we have tried

Vagus Nerve Stimulation?
Anyone looked into this? I've been looking into this a little bit on and off. I have Graves disease and my heart rate variability is somewhat low (disturbingly low 😂) anyway, I've suffered a lot of trauma in life and apparently this can affect the Vagus Nerve which in turn has negative affects on the

TENS machines & AF
Does anyone here use a TENS machine? A physio has recommended one to me for a different health issue. Pads would be on ankles, not near heart. I’ve lone PAF (no pacemaker). AFib isn’t contraindicated, but sending electrical signals through my body feels counter-intuitive. Thx.

Pudendal Neuralgia Physiotherapist
Hi All, I joined this forum today inspired by a book by Margaret Stubbs. I have received my formal diagnosis of Pudenda Nerve Entrapment in July this year but I was relatively sure this was going to be the final response since the symptoms first appeared in February. I am not using medications currently

Where now?
Hi, I'm so upset that I'm being seemingly fobbed off by my neurologist. For three years I've had ear pain, Headaches, hemifacial spasm, tinnitus, wooshing or thuds in my ears, numbness that comes over my face (all the same side) vision issues, wobbly spells, and now I have a strabismus. They won't

The plot thickens - unexpected turns
So appointment with ophthamologust today and whilst i am waiting to see the doctor, my rheumatologist turns up to find me. What an unexpected thing to happen!!! He explains that he wants to know the outcome of this appointment to decide what to do next. At my invitation, he joins me in the appointment

When Your AF Meds Crash the Pain Relief Party
I am currently on a waitlist for a total knee replacement (TKR) and have been diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial flutter/atrial fibrillation (AF/AFL). Before the surgery, I plan to have an in-depth conversation with the anesthesiologist regarding the strong pain medications (opioids) typically prescribed

buprenorphine, pregablin, opiates
Hi all. In the ongoing battle to get things stable I have been able to decrease my buprenorphine to under .5mg sublingual (from 2mg) and pregablin to 100mg (from 225mg). RLS is mostly managed well which is terrific but I can't say that I feel much less tired overall having decreased dosages. Like

small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma
My husbands cancer has transformed to this very aggressive, virulent cancer. He has experienced what I call “cry out loud”, “foot stomping “ bone pain and was recently hospitalized for 17 days before they got it under control. While in the hospital, they did two rounds of radiation (5 days each round
