Vagus Nerve Stimulation?

Anyone looked into this? I've been looking into this a little bit on and off. I have Graves disease and my heart rate variability is somewhat low (disturbingly low 😂) anyway, I've suffered a lot of trauma in life and apparently this can affect the Vagus Nerve which in turn has negative affects on the heart rate variability etc etc .... anyway makes for interesting subject poking for those that are interested ... ways to stimulate your vagus nerve? .... you've guessed it "stress control" and some nice bits listed below:

Meditation, deep breathing, yoga, exercise, massage, music, cold water immersion, positive socialising, laughing, diet rich in Omega 3s and probiotics and singing/humming.

Stimulating the vagus nerve can help to minimize seizures in those with epilepsy, treat depression, regulate your emotions, reduce blood pressure, lower your heart rate, reduce inflammation, treat migraines and cluster headaches.

This is not my advice, just for those that might want to do a bit of their own research. Happy poking 😀

I have found the self-help exercises in Stanley Rosenberg's book really helpful: Accessing the Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve. They are easy to do as well.

I developed a high heart rate last year and found all about the vagus nerve.l I landed up blowing into a balloon and then raising my legs into the air. Not a pretty site at my age but it works.

This is different legs up the wall can be a Yoga move. Good for you but not the same thing.

I started Yoga at 29 years old and I am now 78 but can't move around quite the same.

Not what you're looking for?
