hello everyone,
Please can you help?? My daughter has epilepsy and as part of her management she has a VNS device.
She is currently still at school and as part of her GCSE course she has been given the opportunity to participate in a parenting simulation project.
she is very keen to do this as essentially you are caring for a manikin doll carrying out all of the parenting duties.
However, the manikin has a magnet inside the body of doll and so there is a standard warning that there is a chance it could interfere with a pacemaker or implanted electronic device.
Has anyone had any experiences of any thing the same or similar??
I have tried to get an answer from the hospital but they have not ever been asked this and don’t really know.
I don’t want to refuse my child this opportunity if it is safe but am struggling to get any information around the strength of the magnet in these manikins etc.
Any help or advice greatly appreciated, many thanks
