Effect of increased levo dose
Rather unexpectedly, as not supposed to be until 3 months after having my levo upped from 75 to 100mcg, my TSH and T4 were tested after just 5 weeks. TSH 0.16 (0.27 to 4.2), T4 21.7 (12 to 22). As I was not expecting thyroid tests at this time (different test booked) I had taken levo 3 hours before

weight gain
Morning everyone, I was told by a nurse practitioner this week that the fact my T4 level is low since they changed my Thyroxine dose from 100mg to 75mg has nothing to do with my recent weight gain - her argument being that she doesn’t have a thyroid and she’s not overweight. My diet hasn’t changed

T3 trial and latest blood test results
4 weeks ago I started a 3 month trial of T3. I am now taking 50mcg Levothyroxine and 25mcg Liothyronine (the latter split into 2 doses approximately 12 hours apart). Before the trail I was taking 75mcg and 100mcg Levothyroxine on alternate days. My FT4 level has dropped from 10.6 (September 2023

Long time member advice required on recent thyroid blood test after starting HRT.
I’m just after some advice on my recent blood test I had taken myself. I know the drill no levo 24 hours before. NDT gap of 8 hours. Vitamins stoped week before My test was taken at the same time as all other blood test 7.10am. I always stick to this routine to ensure consistency. I decided to take

I know that a slow Achilles reflex can be a symptom of hypothyroidism. It’s not something I had ever thought about until I was diagnosed six months ago with a TSH of 42. Hi! I was treating my thyroid for years, and in 2020, my endocrinologist assured me that everything was fine. However, she advised me to start planning for a baby before turning 30. Now, at 28 years old, while trying to conceive, I visited an OB-GYN where I did hormone tests. The results revealed

bone density issues with suppressed tsh
hi all my Dr is concerned at my suppressed tsh and wants me to reduce my meds despite my t3/t4 being healthily in range. She says a suppressed tsh will increase risk of increased heart rhythms and loss of bone density. I believe this is only a risk if you are in thyrotoxicosis, not just a suppressed

Why TSH alone should not be used again - another bit of science

My blood results after 9 weeks on 100mcg
Here are my results they were taken as per protocol nothing for 24hrs and I don’t take biotin. The Medichecks Doctor thinks I’m overactive. TSH - 0.011 (0.27-4.2) Free T4 - 21.6 (12-22) (96%) Free T3 - 5.8 (3.1-6.8) ((73%) On 75mcg my FT4 was 60% and my FT3 54%. I’m quite shocked it’s gone up

So I decided to do the full health plus tpo from Monitor My Health (who currently have 20% off all their tests, annoyingly!) on Monday, results came back early this morning. I will upload screenshots rather than
