Pudendal Neuralgia Physiotherapist

Hi All,

I joined this forum today inspired by a book by Margaret Stubbs. I have received my formal diagnosis of Pudenda Nerve Entrapment in July this year but I was relatively sure this was going to be the final response since the symptoms first appeared in February.

I am not using medications currently as the first experience with Amitriptyline was a disaster due to severe constipation. I am currently waiting for my first nerve block to be arranged, but I am not optimistic this will result in a long term solution for me.

I have found that gentle Yoga had some benefits and I am keen on finding a professional Physiotherapist who specializes in Pudendal Neuralgia as I expect similar or greatest benefits to come from this.

Does the forum have any suggestion for Physiotherapists in the London area?

Many thanks!

Hi Tuscan—Sunflower,

Sorry to hear about your pain. Your idea to find a PT could be really helpful. We’re not supposed to mention specific names in our posts/responses, but I replied to claud 89 three years ago and named 2 PTs in London, one of whom I went to and was impressed. So either look and see what comes up with my name or claud 89 or use the search function ( physiotherapist in London). I hope this helps.

Hi! I have genitofemoral neuralgia and the nerve block has worked (I have more to do for the other 2 inguinal nerves). My pain management doctor explained that there is a kore long term solution, after the diagnosis with the nerve block. And that is pulsed radiofrequency.

Thanks, I have read recently about this and I was disappointed it was not mentioned by my specialist as an option. Something I will push him to further investigate for my case.

Great! Do that asap, as I have just been told that the waiting lists on the NHS are months long! I have been on the waiting list since 1st August, and they are fully booked until February 2025...Best of luck with the treatment and the physio! 💚🙏

How was genitofemoral neuralgia and inguinal neuralgia diagnosed? My pelvic pain specialist diagnosed iliolinguinal and iliohypogastric neuralgia. I had a series if 5 nerve blocks for the iliolinguinal nerves. I take Gabapentin. What was the medication in the nerve blocks you had?
