We have been trying everything over the past 7 years for our son who has dysfunctional voiding.
Currently Solifenicin and TENS from the consultant.
We asked if we could try acupuncture if TENS has no impact.
Has anyone been down this route - or anything else not NHS standard?
We feel we have tried all the meds and all the techniques, Botox not an option due to retention of urine, but urgency and frequency high and bladder capacity low. Tried biofeedback twice for several weeks but hospital say he can't sense his pelvic floor muscles so a no go.
Feel a bit like we are running out of options to try. H eis 13 now.
Any ideas welcome.

Hi, sorry to hear your son has these issues. My daughter is similar (although can hold far too much urine). She is on Mirobegron and self catheterises. Tried all the other meds and bio feedback - with limited success. She hasn’t tried acupuncture but I hope you find something that works for your son.
Thanks Starry. Yes, he retains as well which is partly what makes it hard to treat. GP says mirobegron not liscenced for children and wasn't keen to issue prescription tbh (doesn't seem to stop consultants) we did have a trial but he got headaches so I stopped it.
